Calling all Bridalicious Boot Campers!!!

Hello ladies! Just did my first workout today and I am really excited! I see all these before and after pics and its very motivating! I was wondering if there is a specific thread for boot campers and if not, could we start one? I would love to read some feedback as well as have some encouragement along the way.

Hi Doug! Can't wait to check out the new board when you launch it, it never hurts to stick together! I liked the FB page before I even received my DVDs! My first dress fitting will be in December and I would like to lose 15 lbs by then (which is roughtly 90 days from when I started), although my total goal would be 15-20 lbs. Then I would like to maintain and tone up until April. I try to work out in the mornings before work (getting up at 5am) and sometimes its just finding the motivation NOT to hit the snooze button. I usually get about 6 hours of sleep each night, and I know I really need more. I manage a Sleep Disorders Center - pretty ironic, huh?

Thanks for your support and I will keep you posted on my progress (what is the best way to do that?) By the way, jump squats are killers!!! In a good way! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

  • Hi Doug!

Love this! I'm still fairly new to the boards and just found the fitness board! Yay! I work at MapMyFitness AND I'm getting married soon so this is pretty close to home for me. Luckily, we just started a company-wide Challenge where all MapMyFitness employees are logging a minimum of 30 minutes of activity a day for 30 days. Since my wedding is in just over 30 days, it's the perfect time for some extra motiviation.

If MapMyFitness can ever help you at the Knot (with fitness tracking, Challenges etc) just let me know. Can't wait to read more of your fitness posts!

  • I just ordered the DVD and will be starting Monday, really looking forward to it, my wedding is in June and would llike to lose about 15 pounds and tone up...cant wait to use the discussion board for it!
  • I've been doing my Bridalicious workouts for 2 weeks now and I'm in love with them! I do them as soon as I get home from work so I'm not tempted to sit on the couch and veg out all night. And the menus are fantastic! I'm never hungry and the recipes are delicious. I have been using the My Fitness Pal app as a tracker, and its great! It has a ton of searchable foods (and a barcode scanner so you don't have to search for things) and it's great for counting calories and tracking your workouts. One of the great things about it is that at the end of the day, when you're finished "logging", it will tell you "If everyday were like today, you will weigh this many pounds on this date" (which is 30 days from the day you begin)... You can also track weight and measurments, too! It also syncs with the online website so you can track it anywhere. I'm using the 1400 calorie menu and according to MyFitnessPal, I'll be down 13 pounds after the first 30 days if I keep it up.

So thanks, Doug for awesome workouts! For some reason, I love the steam engines and the crunch and punch... I do the steam engines while I'm cooking sometimes. I hate burpees and I want to punch the screen after we're finished, but I do them and I am feeling great about my progess and I'm already starting to see some noticeable results (especially definition in my arms)!
  • snthorne442 - I am glad someone is ahead of me with Boot Camp - maybe I can get a sneak peak of what lies ahead! :) I just finished week 1. The burpees are a killer, but I hope to be able to measure progress with them.

I was using MyFitnessPal but took a break this week when I started the menu plan with the DVDs, just to see how it would go. I am going to start back on Monday to tracking.

  • I'm on Week 6.  Keep with it!  I will say, I haven't lost much weight but I've lost a lot of inches!  (The weight loss is another issue.  I've been pretty sick all summer and they are thinking the lack of weight loss is related to having Celiac Disease.)  I'm going for my first fitting this afternoon!  I tried on my dress a few weeks ago and it was actually a little tight in the chest.  Even though I haven't lost much weight, I definitely haven't gained any either.  I did gain muscle in a lot of areas though.  The seamstress said she can let it out a tiny tiny bit in the chest and then take it in in the waist.  Hoping that works!  Keep with it everyone!
