Made Yummy Turkey Burgers

So my family is very picky when it comes to eating burgers.. they love beef. Must be medium rare.. things like that. Well when it comes to turkey must be full cooked, but I found ways to boost it, which could help you cook healthier too!

I added mushrooms, onion, red peppers, and garlic. I used worchestershire sauce  and montreal steak seasoning (no beef in it.. it's just a mix of spices) to give it kick..

I used dark greens instead of just iceburg lettuce...

low carb ketchup and sha la la la la.. everyone was in love!

I let them marinate overnight.  I added more roasted veggies ontop of mine w/ no bun! It was good!  I like eating healthy when I have surprises like this.

Might I suggest a recipe for Turkey Burgers obtained from the Insanity recipe book (or P90X, I can't remember which)...

Basically, for each serving, you mix 4oz of ground turkey with 2 Tbl of salsa and 2 Tbl of red onion (I think those are the measurements - to be honest, I've been making them for 1 1/2 yrs like this, so I'm not sure if I'm still doing it to the letter). The salsa and onion gives the meat a bit of a kick (I sometimes add a drop or two of hot sauce too) and gives it a good amount of moisture while not adding too much in terms of calories... top with a reduced fat cheese, and you're good to go!

My FI puts ketchup on everything, but even he does w/o for these burgers... the salsa adds enough to it that it's not necessary.

    That's kinda childish.
  • What is so childish about it? I don't care for them.

    Your reaction was.

Most adults would say something to the effect of :

"I don't care for mushrooms but otherwise that sounds good!"
"No, thank you. Mushrooms are not my thing."

You said "No mushrooms yuck!" which is fairly similar to what a three year old might say if someone was attempting to force-feed them a food they found distasteful.  Therefore, childish.
