For those of you on Weight Watchers...

I've recently started working out after just eating better for about six months. I've lost around 20 pounds on diet alone. My question is this: do you eat back the points you gained back from exercise? I personally feel it's pointless to do so, but I'd like to hear what others are doing :)

Re: For those of you on Weight Watchers...

  • When I did WW previously, I would eat back a portion of my exercise points, I had to because I was busting my bum working out and not losing.  Once I added the points back in the weight started to fall off.  I lost 80+ on WW, so it definitely works, but there's no "this works for everyone" plan.  You will have to play around with it and see what works for you and your body.  Best of luck!
  • Well, if you don't eat back some of the points (not necessarily all of them) after exercise you could end up netting far less calories per day than your body needs and eventually could hit a major weight loss stall.  Now, if your exercise isn't enough to put you under that mark (that can be different for everyone, mine's 1400 cals) then there isn't too much of a need provided you're healthy.
  • What works for you might not work for somebody else. I swim 90 minutes a day which is an assload of extra points. I have to eat some of it back or I'd pass out before the day was out.
