Getting in Shape

I did it!!! and its because of all of you..

I am doing C25K and started about a month ago. Today I had to run 20mins at a stretch. The longest I had run before that was about 13mins. It was going good till I hit 15mins and then I hit a wall, and i wanted to stop so badly.. But then I thought, if i get to 20mins then I have made it to a milestone and I can report back to my girls on the Knot!!! So i ran that  5 more mins just so that i can write this post...

YAY!

  • Yay!
Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.
  • Where is the *like* button?  That's awesome!

  • Super awesome!  Congrats on your milestone!  I'm starting Week 1 Day 2 today, so this is extra motivation to keep with it.  It seems impossible to me I'll ever be able to run 20 minutes, but we will see.  My calves are already sore and stiff from day 1.  Guess I'm more out of shape than I thought.  Sigh.  Anyone have any good streching exercises I can borrow?

    1. Not impossible and one day you'll be posting a C25K AW.

    2. I like stretches like this pre-run: <a href="http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-241-287--13442-0,00.html" rel="nofollow">http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-241-287--13442-0,00.html</a>

    3. You're so adorable in your sig pic.  So happy and cute.  It always makes me smile.

    That's amazing!  Congratulations!
  • YAY!

DH and I are doing Week 1, Day 2 tonight (Seems like a lot of other people are in the same place as us, lol). Like PP said, right now that 20 minutes straight seems pretty intimidating, but your success is just one more thing for me to think about when I finally get to that dreaded week 5. I love a good success story. Keep up the good work!

  • Great job!

I can't imagine running for 20 minutes straight either. I was happy when I jogged .25 of a mile yesterday. Very slowly! haha

  • This post inspires me!! I will be doing my C25K 20 min run for the first time this week, and was thinking how will I make it through that long of a run?!! I had already wrote myself off, and expected to fail. You give me motivation to face it with a much better outlook, and will push through.

    Thanks!!! :)
