Cake

I am looking for a baker that charges around $3.00/slice.  We would prefer to not have to sacrifice taste and quality.  Any ideas?  Thanks so much!

Here is a recent thread on the subject and at least as far as I know, these are about the only ones that are in that price point.  Any of these would probably be a good place to start.

ETA:  Oh I see you've already seen this link!  Like I said, I don't know of anyone else in this price point, but maybe someone else will chime in.  Of the more well-known cake places, Texas Star Bakery was the cheapest I had ever heard of when I was planning.  Maybe Candy Haven.

Did you contact both of the ones from they review? I was very impressed with them.

Also, for $3/slice for a buttercream cake I would say that Sandy Chang is the BEST!

I think Panini was $3/slice, but that might have been a deal through my coordinator.  Regardless, it was the best flippin' cake I've ever had (and I scarfed down a few pieces that were left on the cake table after our guests left the reception)!

I did this every year during rush. Because the cakes we wanted for the pledges to have was so expensive, they covertly served them expensive cake and us cheap sheetcake from wal mart. As soon as they left the door we would rush over to the tables to pick off the ends that they hadn't touched. To this day I  maintain that it was worth it.

Ugh, you are so lucky. One of Baylor's rules was you couldn't feed the PNMs. I was like, so when do they get dream cake?! It was one of the things I missed about my original chapter.

I used Sandy for my wedding cake also, and they were gorgeous and delicious. And $3/slice.

I think it might have been, too.  I know when we did a tasting and quote with Panini they were a little over $800 for their smallest wedding cake package including delivery.  $3/slice is an awesome price from them! :)
