What to wear?

I feel like this is such a dumb questions... But I just joined a gym with a pool and would love to work out that way, but I don't know what to wear. I even tried googling it and didn't really find anything! Can someone please help me out? I don't want to show up looking totally out of place!

    Anniversary
  • Speedo, Dolfin, TYR, and Nike (amonst others) all make reasonably priced lap suits.

Try a local sporting goods store, or look here:  http://www.kiefer.com/ and look at the fitness swimwear and grab bag stuff.  If you don't know your size, go try some on somewhere before ordering or buying.  You want it tight--probably tighter than you think it should be.  The chlorine will cause them to stretch and no one wants a loose, saggy suit.

<div>I think it's a legit question...I would be like firsttimmer and be wearing a two piece as well :)</div><div>
</div><div>OP: one piece suit (well fitted, not loose), goggles, flip flops. If there's a bit of a walk to and from the locker I'd bring either a short, thin robe if you have one, or a coverup. You can also call the front desk of your gym and ask what clothing they allow in the pool area. ie at my old Y you couldn't wear sneakers by the pool, and excessive jewelry (bangles, long earrings) were also not allowed. I'd also ask about the towel situation, if you have to bring your own or if they're supplied. Have fun, I love swimming!</div>
