Workout Accountability: Tuesday

Hoping this post actually shows up...

It was so nice out yesterday but I got home from work with the worst cramps ever and could barely move.  When I felt better, I went on a nice long walk with FI instead of my run.

Tonight I'll lift and do the elliptical.  I'll be increasing my reps on a few exercises tonight.

How did everyone else do?

Re: Workout Accountability: Tuesday

  • Ugh, glad you're feeling better!

I ended up taking yesterday off and starting back on my morning workout routine this AM.  I was going to do weights but they forgot to change the times on the key swipe for daylight savings time, so I couldn't get in until 6 and was left with only enough time for cardio.  So 35 minutes on the treadmill for me today, and weights tomorrow AM.

  • I got 105 minutes of light cardio in on my bike and some free weights last night.

I think I might have gone into a plateau, so now I need to figure out some kind of exercise that can mix up my routine.

Going to the gym tonight, might try to do the stairmaster for longer to see if that helps.

  • I'm sorry you weren't feeling well!  Cramps suck!

This morning I took a 60-minute spin class.  No lifting today.  I finally made the egg muffins that another poster suggested and boy were they delicious for breakfast afterward!

    Have a great day!
  • Why does TK always mess with our accountability threads?!?! Posts keep disappearing and reappearing and disappearing again...ugh.

  • Wow entropicbeauty - 105 mins of cardio! Thats a lot. Good for you!

Yesterday when I got home from work I did some weights for about 45 minutes. I tried some things I haven't done before so it felt good to change it up. This morning I went to spin class. Trying to really keep pushing myself in cardio. I have to keep reminding myself I can push harder!

  • Last night I did day 1 of week 3 of the 200 pushup challenge and a 10 minute yoga video. Not a whole lot, but better than nothing. I attempted to do the 10 minute yoga again this morning, but couldn't. My body felt almost swollen when I woke up. All of the weight on my hands and knees during the poses was really uncomfortable. So weird that <6h before I did the whole routine perfectly fine.
  • It was a lovely day out yesterday so I did a 3.3 mile route through my neighborhood.  I felt pretty good- I was worried my slacker weekend was going to b dragging me down, but I just let it go & got started on a new week :)

Entropic- change up your cardio (if you usually elliptical go for a spin or zumba class) and/or bump up your weights to bust through the plateau.  Also, try eating a little bit over your calories for 1 or 2 days to give you a boost and kind of "trick" your metabolism.
  • I'm limited on time this morning but I did do Just Dance for over 30 minutes. I was sweating so I guess that is a good sign.

  • Good morning!

Day Two of state testing is over. Phew! I am proctoring a great group this year, and they are working hard, thank goodness.

Last night I got home from work late and did Level Two of 30DS. I was so tired, it was all I could manage. Tonight I plan on doing W4D2 of C25K and maybe a JM DVD if I can muster the energy.

Ever since I tried on my wedding dress and could fit into it, I have lost some of my motivation. Like, oh I hit my first goal, I'm good to go. I've been slacking a bit on tracking my points. I really need to get back to mindfulness mode so I don't f it up.

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

  • Hi Everyone!

I signed up for a 15K over the weekend so I am going to start a half marathon training schedule so I am really comfortable with the distance. I did 5 miles Sunday, off yesterday, and I'll do 3 miles today. If the rain holds off I'm also going to take the dogs for a walk.

The training schedule I picked doesn't really have any cross training days, so I am thinking I might try to do the elliptical or swimming on the low mileage days, and strength training on one of the off days, or combo it with another low mileage day- does anyone have any input on this?? 15K seems really doable- but I am also pretty nervous about it. I know people who don't train at all and just run it, I don't want to over train, but I want to be READY!
  • kpdorr- what's your training plan look like?  When I was half training I would run a short run Monday, lift Tuesday, spin Wednesday, yoga in the am, & a mid distance run Thursday pm, rest Friday, long run Saturday, rest Sunday.

My full marathon training plan is basically the same, but I added in a 3 mile run after I lift on Tuesday.  I also sometimes will add in a spin class Friday morning depending on how long Thursday evening's run was.

Switch things around to suit your schedule, and you're smart to avoid overtraining.  3 or 4 days a week, if structured properly, can be plenty for training.
  • did 5k on my lunch (and 5 min after than yesterday!). Thinking I'll take tomorrow off as my legs are already killing me!

  • Did a gym workout of triceps yesterday and then walked for an hour last night at a pretty good pace around my neighborhood. I was very pleased this morning to find that I had lost a few pounds. My hips and thighs are a few inches thinner which are two of my target areas. Tonight I'll be running for about 15 minutes.

  • Well, I'm just back from surgery... so 30 minutes on the bike then my physio exercies and some ab work today.

Tomorrow will probably be more of the same.. and I'm looking to find some arm and back exercies that I can do as well.
