  • I just bought it today and I'm really excited to start it.  So I'm not helpful, but good luck!

One of my favorite bloggers loves the program, and did an in depth review: http://fitnessista.com/2010/06/the-end-of-insanity/

    Myabe that will help?

  • I TRIED so hard to stick to it but I guess my body's not able to keep up. Its a good thing I borrowed it from a friend... however, I do go to the gym 5 times a day and I've lose a couple of pounds. GL though!

My brother and his Fiance went on it.. and honestly

No, There was no real results. Because they are both Heavier, and the Diet and work out regimin was not to par with their needs.

Insanity is for BUILDING MUSCLE! And it is for those who ALREADY have a massive fitness Background (It states in the Disclaimers on the Website it is for those who are considered of Expert level fitness.)
Attempting this workout system with Mediam to NO work out Ethic, you WILL Do more harm to your body then help.

If you want weight loss and to tone down. Start small. Ellipticals and Bikes, Then move to Treadmills and Cuircuts.
Walk tweo and a half miles three times a wekk and moving up to once a Day. (A typcally Normal paced dog walk for 30-45 minutes will be a little over 2.5 miles.)
And the Cardio will give you MORE weight loss and toning results then Any "insanity" Program will.

  • I've heard it's great if your just trying to get those last pesky few pounds off, or to tone up a bit. I just starting taking a zumba class and I love it. It seems like anyone can do it and they make it fun. Maybe try something like that first and then do insanity.

I bought Insanity to get toned, not to lose weight.  I am on the second week of the second month and I love it.  It is the most challenging workout I've ever done.  My arm and leg muscles are much more solid, and I've lost 5 lbs as well as inches.  My FI is doing it as well and his results are so visible that people have actually been asking him if he's lost weight.  That being said, it has worked for us.  I do want to note, however, that it's very important to pay attention to form when you do the workouts - and it's also very important to eat healthy as well.

  • My cousin's wife went on it. She lost weight (if thats even possible when you weigh 100 lbs) but I think it was more so from her lack of eating. She has body issues.

Maybe you're confused with P90X?  Insanity is actually for building cardiovascular fitness and endurance.  There's very little "muscle building" involved.

But no, it's definitely not a beginner workout system.

  • THanks guys....Yes this is my second day so I am going to give it a world....I can see why is mainly tones you but I think I am going to try at least a month and see what happends. Zumba is also a very good "Lighter'" program. I did that all summer I'm ready for something more intense.

  • I love this program!!! But it is REALLY hard and there is no way I can keep up, but after doing it for 3 weeks I've already dropped a size....so it's working for me.  I would love to "buddy" up with you to get through it.
  • i did p90x for the full 90 day program and LOVED IT! the program left me wanting more, and that was unusual for me. i was a cheerleader and gymnast my WHOLE life and could eat whatever i wanted and not gain an ounce. once i stopped all of the activity, by body changed rapidly. the first week of p90x was HELL ON EARTH! i wanted to call my boss after day three and say "i'm sorry, i cant come in today. i just DIED". after the first 2 weeks i saw results and i was hooked, pain or not. you work through it and it makes you feel so so so so good. i didnt count calories...just watched what i ate and i watched my portions. i tried insanity after p90x and it was too advanced for me. i have a horrible back and the constant jumping around thing was NOT going to work for me. even if you modify the program, it is still really advanced. i know people who had incredible results. i'm going to do p90x2...after thats done, i'lll go back to p90x and rotate between the 2 programs. i recommend p90x before doing insanity.
