Shellac French Manicure

Hi Ladies,

I'm hoping someone here can help me out.  I don't live in Texas, but I'll be getting married there in 19 days.  I'm looking for a salon that give me a shellac french manicure for the wedding.  I don't want the gel nails or fake nails.  Does anyone know of a salon/manicurist in the Fort Worth/Keller/Southlake area that can do a shellac french manicure?

Thanks!

Re: Shellac French Manicure

  • I'm a little confused. The last time I went to get one, the salon told me that Shellac is the same thing as gel, it's just a specific brand of gel. So, what exactly are you wanting that's different?

I usually get manicures/pedicures at Hollywood Nails and Spa off of Camp Bowie in Fort Worth. This last time I did an OPI gel manicure (they have tons of gel options), and while it wasn't french (it was a light natural/pink), it was great. I almost always get a perfect manicure at this place (and if you tell them you're a bride, I'm sure they'll give you someone with lots of experience). An added bonus is the complimentary glass of wine and a shoulder massage with every manicure. :)

  • I live in the Keller area and I go to QSPA on beach and basswood.  I get the gel nails and ive gone to them for 8+ years with no problems on any of my services.  Im not sure what the shellac is but they are always up to date on whats popular so im sure they could help you out! Good luck!
  • Most of the salons will do the shellac nails, although not sure whether it is gel or not. I would recommend searching for nail salons online and readin reviews so you can find a place you're comfortable with. Once you find a few places give them a call. If you don't want to do that: I live and work in Mansfield Tx south or Arlington and there are two amazing and slightly expensive salons there that do anything from waxing and nails to hair and massages. They're close to one another : Serenity and Avanti off Debbie lane. You will have to call them to see what services they offer that would accommodate you. Hope this helps! Good luck and congrats!
  • Thanks, Ladies.  Y'all have given me some good leads to pursue.  Just in case you wanted to know, Shellac is different from the Gel nails because it is less damaging to your natural nails and can be soaked off with acetone when you're ready to remove it.  Both forms of polish last a long time (over 2 weeks), but the Gel nails are just as damaging to your natural nails as if you had acrylic nails put on.
  • Shellac is the "BRAND" it is however a "gel nail"  You may also have heard of Gelish, axxium (OPI) brand. Basically what it boils down to is the amout of accrylic in the "gel" polish. I personally like the axxium (opi) better simply bc it lasts longer than any other brand. I do hair so im in water all day long. Gelish has the MOST amount of accrylic with axxium having slightly less and then Shellac with NONE. You just have to try all the brands and see which one lasts longer on your nail. Hope that helps :)
