Private last dance?

I've seen a few of you post about a private last dance today.  Was everyone around and you just had the DJ clear the dance floor for you?  Did you kick everyone out for the "exit" and dance to one last song before leaving?

I've never heard of this... do share!!! 

PS - I am spending WAY to much time on this board.  I'm so not getting enough work done lately.

The reception ends and everyone leaves...then with no one else in the room you two share your last dance

For ours, everyone was out of the room.  The DJ started the song and left as well.  When it was over, we did our exit.

P.S. I'm spending too much time on here too!!  I have entirely too much work I should be doing.

I LOVE this idea too!!

So do you get everyone to exit, and just stand around and wait for you until you do your exit after the dance?

We had our DJ announce for the guests to leave and line up for our exit.  When everyone left the room, we had our last dance.  It was our favorite part of the night!  I surprised my husband with the last song which was by his favorite band, Ween, called "Stay Forever."  And trust me, we wanted to!



Obviously, our photographer was there but we never saw her.

This is a great idea!  I'm absolutely going to have to do this now!

Same as Stephie.  Our DJ announced for everyone to head out and they all went for the bubbles. 

We were at least mostly alone in the room.

Tell me about it!! I have the strangest fear that the DJ is going to get the songs mixed up that I want played at a specific time. He had me fill out this questionare thing, and I am making him a cd. I don't know why I'm so worried about it! I worry about the dumbest things!

Same thing as Stephie.  One of the best things we did at the wedding.  It was really cool to see the reception with everybody cleared out except us.  And it was pretty emotional was it was just us and the photogs, even the DJ left as soon as she put the song on.  The guests were outside lining up and lighting up their sparklers... when the song was over, we ran out for our grand exit... worked out perfect!
