A rehearsal dinner for 150 people?!?

I would say cut the list first.  :)  Then work without your budget.  IMO, $10 may be hard.  I would aim for BBQ, if so.

For my first wedding, we DIY'd our RD.  We got those big family Stouffer's lasagna and had salad and bread and tea.  So that could be an option maybe--but not for 150.

I would suggest cutting it down considerably if at all possible.

I agree with PP, you should cut the guest list down.

I'm adding this to my grocery list this week. YUM!

We had Sonny Bryans cater, and they have three pricing options: 1 meat=$9/pp, 2 meats=$10/pp, 3 meats=$11/pp. They have a full service option for an additional $125. With tax and gratuity for 50 ppl, we paid less than $750, and had plenty of leftovers.
For 150 ppl, you're looking at over $1600 without including tax and gratuity. Is there a reason that your RD will be so large? I would also suggest cutting the guest list as well; most people not in the WP don't expect to be included--but if you can afford it and the budget allows, it is a very lovely gesture. It just seems very overzealous and unnecessary.

Are you getting married at a church? Sometimes they have halls or nice rec rooms you can rent for cheap and then you can get BBQ brought in.

Or if it's in a cool month have a BBQ. My FMIL did one for her other sons wedding last year the day after the wedding and it was a lot of fun! They cooked the meat and people brough extra sides and desserts and stuff.

I think you should do a search for catering.  We've had a couple of threads lately asking for caterers that fit various budgets.

Mexican -  On the Border seems pretty reasonable - that's what we're looking at.  You can find their catering menu on their website.

Anyone use them or know anything about their catering??

When I read that the first time I was thinking, wow! What a big rehearsal dinner!

For reception-a lot of girls have mentioned Black Eyed Pea-I am not sure on their prices however.

I am considering using Italianni's (in Hurst area) to cater for my reception. Cost is about $16 pp. Seems VERY reasonable and their food is amazing!

How do I do a search?
  • edited December 2011
At the bottom of the page, there is a search feature.  Type in what you are looking for, make sure "current board" is selected, and hit search :)

Try Chef's Creations.  I met her recently and she is SO nice and they will work in any budget.  Her name is Stefani.  Her website is pretty limited bc they are newer but here it is... www.chefscreations.net

I also got good quotes from Blue Mesa Grill & Allie's Catering.
