Workout Accountability: Tuesday

Good morning, good morning!

I have another super busy day ahead of me. Work will be busy today and Fi and I have tons of moving/apartment logistics to figure out. 
Last night I lifted and increased reps for one of my circuits and also did 40 minutes on the elliptical. 

It is of course pouring today, but I really need to go for a run just to de-stress. I'm planning on about 4 miles. 

How did everyone else do?

    I really thought I was going to fall asleep at my desk yesterday, so went home for a quick nap after work, got up and went for a short 1 mile run just to get myself doing something, then went to bed at 9.  I ended up getting caught in the rain, but I think it actually helped me de-stress and relax more than anything else.  Eating is also back on track, so I'm looking forward to the return of my healthy eating and getting back to my normal routine.

    I did nothing! I've been really tired the past few days so gave myself an extra day off. I ate within my 1200 calories so I didn't feel guilty in the least!!

    Moving stinks Jude- the more organized though, the better. I've showed up to help friends "move" before and really it was show up and "pack" for them! Hopefully you are excited about your new place- that makes the hassle worth it!

    It is pouring here today too so I'm going to go to the gym this afternoon. I also have to put gift tags on all our favors, pick up my wedding dress from being altered, and finish up our place cards! May 19th is coming so fast!

    Last night I took hip hop with two of my friends.  I don't think I burn many calories, but it is a lot of fun!  This morning I hit spin class and had a great ride.  I ate really well yesterday too - tons of veggies & lean meats and healthy snacks.

    It's pouring here.  It seems like we get 4 days of rain for every day of sunshine.  It sucks.  Last night I ran just over 5 miles.  I felt really good and I feel like I've gotten to the point where 5-7 feels pretty comfortable.  Tonight I'm hoping to do arms and abs at the gym.

    Another dreary day here, too! I did 30DS last night and am planning on 1.5 miles on the treadmill tonight.

    It's Teacher Appreciation Week, so our administration had bagels & donuts for us this morning. I split a bagel and donut with a friend, so I don't feel too bad about indulging.

    Good luck with the move, Jude. What is your time frame? My sister lives in Frederick County, MD, and loves it!

  • Good Morning!

    I stayed up late working on a project for a client and snuck in some time to work on our Thank You cards (iPhoto has this great photo collage postcard design where you can insert photos, design the card, and then purchase them in print!). Suffice to say, I woke up exhausted and realized that I'm not cut out for late night work nights like I used to be.

    Today I will go to the gym after work and start up C25K again. I forgot where I left off so I downloaded the app for my phone and will go all the way back to the beginning. Week 1, Day 1. I'll follow it up with a strength training circuit for about 30 minutes. Luckily the gym is right across the street from work... so I really have no excuse and I can wait out traffic.

  • Hey guys!  I've missed you :)  I got rear ended last Monday (need a new bumper now!!), so I took a full week off from working out to make sure my neck and back were ok.  I was sore for a few days but other than that, I'm as good as new!

    I lifted this morning, but I've been taking it easy with the running since the marathon.  My right MCL is a bit strained, and my meniscus as well.  I start training for my next marathon in about a month, so I am working on building strength/muscle and keeping up with cardio by cross training.

    I hope everyone else is doing well & staying on track!!

  • Medic - glad you're okay! Sorry to hear about the accident. That always makes things more difficult!

    Made it to the gym last night even though I wasn't feeling very motivated. Got 30 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes of weightlifting. Hoping to get some light cardio in today. So not feeling it today though.

    Last night I lifted after work, back, chest, and abs. This morning I went to the gym and did about 45 minutes of cardio on the treadmill. This is a quick post since I need to run to the doctor. Nice job everyone!

    lizzie: RIght now our plan is FI moves down for June (he has to, that's when he starts work) and I move home to NY until our August wedding, then move down there with our cats.

  • Haven't really posted much on here, but I'm trying to get better with the working out, so you'll probably see me from time to time. 

    Tonight's plan is a pilates class at the gym, followed by a kickboxing/bootcamp class that I've never tried before.  I'm nervous that it's going to be hard, but I definitely need it!

    Also, am going to try for a half hour walk at lunch if I can get out there between rain showers.  It's yucky here today too. 

  • Wow!!!!! You ladies are all rockstars!!!!! You guys amaze me with you 5 mile runs and two a day workouts!!!! Someday maybe...... I did day 2 of insanity ..... Kicked my butt!!!!!!!! I thought I was gonna die for a minute lol..... But I didn't quit, using MFP and staying on track

  • I'm super tired today but I'm heading to yoga in the the rain when I get home.  I skipped my morning snack today on accident which now gives me 100 extra calories for tonight, sweet.  I'm usually starving without that snack but I was fine!

    Glad you are ok Medic! 

    I just went to the gym at the school where I am a grad student and since it is after the spring semester I'd have to pay $70 for a summer membership! I am taking summer classes but apparently that doesn't make a difference. I am so annoyed! I came home and did the crappy elliptical we have for 40 minutes- better than nothing, but I'm going to need a new rain plan!! Maybe I can use the gym at the school where I work.... maybe I'll have more money once I'm not saving for a wedding and can actually join a gym!!!!! Wooooot!!!!!
  • Thanks Jude! I've been sifting through the photos from our photographer and loved what he did! : I even ended up using them in a photo collage as part of our Thank Yous. Gotta love iPhoto. :

  • Happy Tuesday afternoon everyone!

    Yesterday I jogged 5 kilometers. It took me 42 minutes; I know that's slow but it's my best and I'm just happy I could do it! Question - has/does anyone use(d) a Camel Back water carrier thing? Carrying my water bottle in my hand is a PITA - but I just can't go for more than like 5 minutes without it... Looking for a solution that doesn't involve leaving my water behind.

    Eating was good yesterday, actually hit my 30% for protein which I've been really trying to do lately!

    Today I'm resting because my body is telling me to, and am continuing the smart eating.

    Sorry to hear about your accident Medic - I'm glad you are okay. Also - training for another marathon?! Amazing!
