Getting in Shape

Bought a new dress!

After much personal debate about it(I even posted on here a few months ago), I decided to buy a new dress that I love and flatters my new figure for my wedding in June!

Here's what happened: I've lost about 35lbs since I bought the dress last year(which i did not intend to do when I initially bought it) and it just did not fit anymore! My seamstress has been holding on to it for a few months, waiting for me to hit my plateau so she could take my final measurements but I've been all over the place gaining and losing for the past month. I decided to go in for another fitting this past Saturday and I just did NOT like the way I looked in the dress! It was not flattering at all! So after my fitting I made an appontment to go to David'd Bridal for the next day(which I had never really considered doing) just to see what I could find. After trying on 2 or 3 dresses, i knew this one was the one! I felt happy, confident, sexy and best of all skinny! lol It is very similar to my old one but it fits me and my vintage inspired theme! Best part is I bought it off the rack and it was $399, over $100 less than my original dress! So now I have to get the old one off my hands somehow! Here's a shot of me at the store with my new dress on. Just wanted to share my happy weight loss story! Has anyone else had a similar experience?

  • Absolutely lovely!
Congratulations on the loss as well! That's a huge achievement!

I didn't have the same experience as you with the weight loss and needing a new dress, but I do have two wedding gowns because I splurged on the first one and ended up hating it.. hah.. what a waste.. but It was worth getting the second because I felt incredible on my wedding day.

The hardest part about a huge transformation can be not knowing your body shape anymore. Having to realize that what used to work for your bod, no longer does, can be very frustrating.. OR it can be very motivating! I hope it's the latter for you :)
