Getting in Shape

exercises for arms

Does any one have some good exercises to get my arms in shape?  I have 2lb dumbells that I've been using, but so far I don't see any difference. Thanks

  • I just started with a trainer and the best exercise for arms is just a basic push-up.  That way you work all areas- including your back and shoulders! You can do a modified one though with your knees on the ground.

    Also I know you're looking for exercies but honestly yoga is also a really great way to tone your arms- after just three sessions you'll notice a difference!  It's all those downward dogs and planks!

  • Do you have netflix?  If so, you can stream several really good work outs to your computer or other streaming device.  I've had AMAZING results from the 10 minute solutions videos they have, and highly recommend pilates videos in particular.  They always have a 10 minute arms section, and despite the short period of time, combining those with some push ups and bicep curls on my on every day, along with my cardio, has really made a noticeable difference to me. 
  • Go up to 5lbs but don't try 10 unless you are comfortable and not too heavy.

     
  • I recommend getting the Perfect Push up and you tube works out with them.  They will kick your butt but your arms will look amazing.  And if you try them start doing them on your knees like a girl push up!
