Getting in Shape

Wedding Fitness!

I have a weak core(my abdominal muscles have been operated on many times) What is the best way to tone them, in addition to my legs and buttox. THank you!

Re: Wedding Fitness!

  • Your core is what helps you do ANYTHING. It helps you breathe, walk, lift things, etc.
Are you trying to get rid of fat or just build muscle?
The overall strengthen your core, it's all about the cardio! When you run, bike, Zumba, etc you are using every single core muscle, from your back to your front.
As far as pure muscle build, weight lifting will be your best friend, but you will need to be careful if you have any damage done from all your operations to make sure that you don't push your body more than you should. Are you 100% fully healed from everything?
Do you have any known limitations from said operations?

While there are a lot of great workouts for your core, I would actually make an appt w/ a physical therapist or your dr before you start anything. a PT is really the most appropriate person to answer your question considering you've had multiple surgeries on the muscles in question. Good luck!
