I forgot today was my best friend's birthday...oops! Oh well. Taking him to dinner tonight with the fiance to make up for it. Besides that...my countdown said 35 days and I'm all sorts of shocked!

I had my second dress fitting yesterday. I'll get the pictures put on here, since they are the only pictures I've taken of the dress lol.

Have fun at the shower Cwagg!

Deborah - wohoo, dress pics!  35 days... you are getting so close.  I hope everything you picked up looked good.  If you have any issues with anything at all, let me know. :)

I am about to head out to the bank (still haven't cashed one of the checks from the wedding.. .etiquette FAIL) and then head to World Market for some coffee... mmm.  Hopefully I'll get some more work done in our apartment today.  We finally decided on a paint color for the bedroom:  Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore.  It looks like this:

Amy- Big thanks to you. Everything turned out great! I like that color for the place too, are you going to do the white trim with it?

Did anyone else have their reply deadline approaching and only have 50 out of 200 reply so far? Or have their father say "Oh about a week before I'm going to post on my social website inviting everyone who reads to the wedding (about an extra 60 people). I know he's paying for it, but we can only fit so many and I have a seating chart for a reason! Sometimes people worry me.

  • I had to call 50% of my guest list. It was absolutely ridiculous.

I did have my mom post to FB about "If someone is not invited to the wedding...can I invite them to the shower? HELLP."  In which, I already told her about an hour before she posted the status that no, she couldn't.

Wow, that's pretty bad (inviting everybody on his friends list, I mean)! I also had about half my guests not RSVP by the deadline -- but they were all MIL's family, so I just told her and she called them all.

I might've had too much wine last night. I feel like crap today, despite being on my second bottle of Gatorade.
  • I hope everyone has a great day. Amy I like that color for the wall. cwaggoner have fun at your shower. I worked a 13 hour shift yesterday on what was supposed to be my day off and back at work this morning for day 6. Ughhh! I'm pretty useless right now. I'm hoping to get out of here around 1:00. We have a friends birthday party tonight at the Pier. Hope I don't crash and burn 1st.

    <div>
</div><div>Yep, the trim will stay white.  Our apartments are... 32 years old?  I think that's right.  They have never changed out the baseboards and trimwork, and they claim they paint before every move-in.  Needless to say, its hard to even tell where the baseboards and trim begin and end anymore with all the paint built up on them from over the years... not to mention that they don't clean them prior to painting, so you find lovely bits of hair and bugs globbed up under the paint.  I just love apartment living.</div><div>
</div><div>We also had about 50% off our guest list not repsond by the RSVP date.  H and I didn't get to invite that many of our own friends, so most of the people were friends of my parents or friends of H's parents.  I deferred to them and asked them to call their guests.  H's mom didn't call anyone I dont think, which was awesome, but no one showed up that didn't RSVP.</div>

    Yay for showers and fittings!

My mom and I drove to McKinney today to meet with a florist (I'm in north Fort Worth and she's in Arlington) and man, that felt like a road trip! I'm starting to become jealous of you Dallas girls because all of the good vendors seem to be on your side of the world! Anyway, it went really well and we're just waiting on the quote, but if she can get us something decent I'm leaning toward hiring her. My mom has nearly talked me out of trying to do my own flowers (probably because she knows me and knows I will get stressed). I'm thinking it might be worth the money. We also had a delicious brunch at Spoons. :)

Other than that, FI has a hockey game tonight and some friends of ours are having a get together. I'm still trying to get over being sickly though and am not sure if I want to go. I think my strep may have transferred itself into an upper-respiratory infection. Ughhh. Is anyone else sickly?

ETA: Random things shouldn't be capitalized.

Jealous!!! I love old downtown McKinney, and Spoons is one of our faves.
  • FI's dad just asked if he could invite 4 of his friends to the RD, which is going to have about 40 people and is immediate family and WP only.
His complaint: Well, they're out of town and won't have anyone to go to dinner with.

Um each other? Our place has VERY limited room, and I can't even invite my grandparents who live in MO. Kind of pisssed me off. Like, dude, your family is 70% of the RD alone. Luckily FI dealt with it.

I've missed you girls this weekend!  Thursday was a bachelorette party for one of my friends, then Friday we did the bridal pampering thing, THEN a fun river cruise/luncheon on the Oklahoma River (which has really cleaned up since the days I was on the rowing team out here!), then rehearsal, dinner, and Saturday was the wedding!  It's been more exhausting than my own wedding, I think!  It wasn't a DFW wedding, so I don't have any reviews, but it was so fun!

And today H leaves for 2.5 months.  Sad bear.  =(
