Does anyone know? I bought a new one a few months ago and I live by it but I heard they can be incorrect??

  • They are incredibly inaccurate, as are the heart rate monitors on them as well.

I agree with the bolded, not that I don't agree with the heart rate monitors I just don't know about that part.

Weight watchers has you go by exhersion levels.  I workout on the elyptical and arctrainer alot and I find that I don't get as hungry as I do when I run.  So I do not feel the need to add those calories back into my diet as i do when I run.

I can grab it one second and my heart rate is 170 - 10 seconds later it says it is 80, which just isn't possible.

  • I can't stand the fact that the machines are incorrect!! i always have a goal of how much I want to burn before I can get off the machine...

it could be 100 less calories than it says on there!

why do they even have them if they don't work????

    UGH!!!

    Good question.
Get a heart rate monitor. By measuring your heart rate, it will be able to pretty accurately tell you how many calories you actually burned.

  • Thank you! What a bummer... I had a feeling the calories burned were too good to be true haha
