building a habit

So, I read this in Fitness mag earlier this week and I'm giving it a shot. Research shows it takes 21 days to build a habit. I am terrible at getting to that point because I have no real accountability. There's a website 21habit.com that you make a self-challenge for 21 to do something. I started this morning with "I will do my 30 min workout video every day." You then have two options. Either put up $21 and for every day you fail to do it (and honestly log) you lose a dollar to be donated to charity. Or, you can opt for the free version which doesn't have any real consequences, but does force you to think about it each day.

I'm not a vendor or anything, but I thought it was a cool idea. I always had the best success with stuff like Weight Watchers where I had to physically go in and get on a scale for a complete stranger. This isn't quite that intense (or as expensive). But, if it helps me, maybe it'll help you. :)
