Angel food- yes or no?

Trying to eat healthier is getting pretty tough with all these temptations around, and the fact that my FI gets irritated when I don't buy junk food at the grocery store. I haven't bought chocolate or ice cream in a really long time! But I still get that itch for sweets. So I munch on a cookie at work (I work in a bakery), and when Easter rolled around, I dove into the candy jar at my moms house.

So my question is- when I get those insane cravings, would angel food be a good alternative? I tried fruit, I tried drinking water... but when I do that it just makes it worse and next thing I know, an entire chocolate bunny is gone before I realize what I did!

If not angel food, what else could I eat that isn't going to destroy my progress but still gets my sweet tooth satisfied? What's worked for you?
