Workout Accountability: Wednesday

Morning everyone, and happy Wednesday!  Yet one more day closer to the weekend, phew!

Eating and working out was not quite what I hoped yesterday.  I did a little extra snacking at night, and my workout also got ruined because all the treadmills were taken.  I was so annoyed because it was too humid outside to run, so I just went about a mile before I got overheated outdoors, and finished up with some random exercises inside.  I hated the yoga x dvd (it was rough!), but am really missing it, because it did make all the difference in this program.
Today is legs, back, and abs, and back to salmon for dinner.

  • Morning all.  Still in frustration mode.  Weighed in this morning at 4.5 pounds more than just under a week ago, which was about 1.4 pounds heavier than the time before, which was finally down to 140.  I'm trying to take in more calories but it doesn't seem to be working.  I'm trying to drink more water as well, get one bottle down before I even leave for work.  Today my weight was back over 146.  Which doesn't make any sense because yesterday I stepped on a scale (granted it wasn't mine but still) and after eating a sandwich, drinking a smaller bottle of powerade zero, being fully dressed with shoes and my big ol ring of car keys in my pocket, I was also 146. My measurements have gone up a bit too which they were down a tiny bit yesterday from previous, and no I'm not pregnant (I checked). Today I guess I'm going to try to engage my abs more in cleaning. We'll see how the house load looks, I don't want to totally wear myself out. At this rate though I need to start re-dress shopping for my friend's wedding, I'll never get into the one I bought :(

  • Aw, pounds, I'm sorry about the uncooperative scale.  It sucks.  If I may ask, what are you eating?  I'm wondering if you have a lot of hidden sodium (like in bread) in your diet that might be causing the issue/bloat.
    Also, how old is your scale?  Even in non electronic scales (where the numbers can be off when the battery is fading, even if the battery isn't dead yet) the springs can actually start wearing down giving you an inaccurate reading, too.  This might explain the nonsensical numbers.

  • Happy Wednesday!  My workouts have been pretty good this week, as well as my eating.  Went for a long walk with FI last night and did weights and elliptical the night before.  I was happy at my physical yesterday that I was down about 10 pounds from last year.  Not as much as I hoped, but hey, not too bad!

    Pounds, sorry your scale isn't cooperating!  That is so frustrating.

  • Morning all,

    I just finished a yoga work out (it's nice to have the day off) and I am hoping to get to the gym with FI tonight to do some arm and ab workouts.  Last night I did a BodyRockTv workout video online and holy crap was it intense.  FI walked in during the middle of the video and he just stood there with his mouth open.  I think I've definitely found my new intense non running day workout.

    Eating has been pretty average.

    This week is leaps and bounds over last week, food and workouts on track and the scale is rewarding me ... down every morning.  Weighing myself every day this week, just to make sure we are going in the right direction.

    Last night tried this "80 calorie milkshake" I saw on pinterest, it was AWESOME!  If only we had a real blender.  Chocolate pudding mix, cocoa and almond milk blended with ice ... YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  • pomundson - ditto to everything lobsters said. Also - what time of day are you weighing yourself? I would recommend doing it in the morning before you eat anything. Your weight will change thru out the day, especially after you eat.

    @lbarr - do you need any kind of equipment for the bodyrock videos??

    I had my dress fitting last night - went really well! They had already taken it in 4 inches and it has to be taken in again at the hip! It is a mermaid style dress with a lace up back so I can keep losing, but the hip area was definitely still too big so yay for me! This morning I ran for 30 minutes on the treadmill. I'm going out to dinner with my cousin tonight. I always get super paranoid about calories when I eat out, but I'm just going to try and be as conscious as possible.

  • Maribeth, the workouts I have done haven't required anything other than maybe a mat but you don't even need that.  They do have other workouts that I think might use a jump rope and a sandbag but your don't really NEED to use them.  The workouts are tough enough ;)  Also, if I do some of those I might substitute sandbags for light weights I have at home.

    Last night was supposed to be spin night but my gym buddy ditched me. I decided I would then spend extra time cooking dinner and go for a run after I ate....it seriously took all the motivation I had in me to get going after dinner but I did it.

    Pomund: Uugh I feel your frustration! I stepped up my exercising and watched my food closer and my scale went up as well. I stopped tracking my food a few weeks go but I think I need to get back at it just to make sure that, like Lobsters said, I am not getting bloat from sodium or something.

    Sunrise: CONGRATS on the scale victory!! your milksake sounds deelish!

    Fluffer: Congrats on 10 pounds lost.

  • Good morning! Yesterday I went on a super short walk with co-workers and that was it. Ended up going out to dinner with a friend, but I think I needed a rest day.

    Today my legs are finally not sore, so I'm planning on going to Body Combat, maybe get a little weightlifting in after.

  • @sunrise - I just realized I accidentally skipped over your post! I use instant pudding mix to flavor my protein shakes and they are amazing! Whoever thought of using instant pudding to flavor things is a genius!

  • @maribeth -- I had never even THOUGHT of trying it till now ... I've been using unsweetened cocoa sometimes in my protein smoothies, which adds a weird flavor.  I LOVE PINTEREST!!!!!Sealed

  • Mmmm milkshakes. I will have to try that. We still haven't gone grocery shopping so weeded up ordering Thai for dinner last night. Tonight I have to work late and the meet H at a bar for his birthday and the Sounders game. Heading to the gym for some cardio this morning to help offset some of this unhealthy eating.

    This morning was my weigh in and I have officially lost 31 pounds!  This is the lowest I’ve been in years and I feel great.  I was so excited when I stepped on the scale this morning.  Now 20.5 to go!  I have tomorrow off work to get some wedding stuff done, including a food tasting!  Pretty excited!

    Today I am planning on getting some miles in for carido and an ab workout and then do a yoga class tonight. We have a presidents speech and luncheon today and I hope that they have healthy options for us to choose from! I will keep everyone posted on how that goes:)

  • Morning Ladies!

    I've been gone a few days, now that we are getting down to the wire life is pretty hectic! I've been walking with the pup the past few days though because its been cooler in the mornings so no horseflies! Whoo!

    I had my second dress fitting Monday, the way she took everything in she stopped part of the way down so the fabric at my hip is bunching. So, she has to let it out about 1/4 - 1/2", which I know its for the fabric but its crushing anyways to hear it has to be let out :(

    Today I walked before work, eating will be good and tonight we are walking our land to get our plot design down so we can start building!! Nothing like one more thing to do while planning a wedding!
  • Morning everyone!

    It's taking some hard work this week to get back into my regular eating routine. That camping trip seems to have realigned my tastebuds in the wrong direction - I just want salt and sugar! Constantly! Also, my evil co-workers ordered the biggest greasiest pepperoni pizza last night... so I had one small slice. It was delicious. I wanted a second, but exercised my willpower that I know is deep down in here somewhere!

    Today's goals are:
    1. No beverages other than water (except at breakfast where I drink my juice).
    2. No foods high in sodium.

    The scale dropped 1 of the 2 water weight pounds from my trip this morning, so I'm hopeful that by tomorrow or the day after the other will have left me also. Fingers crossed.

    I'm having trouble finding motivation to exercise... I'm planning for a good run tomorrow morning. Today I just need to focus on my food, and once that's under control I'll feel more like I'm capable of exercising (I hope).

  • @kwitherton -- I accidentally bought the sugared kind ... which I liked, because it meant I didn't have to add augar to make it take sweet, which the original recipe called for.  Super super yummy ... I wish my hand blender could crush ice otherwise I've have another one tonight :)  Anyone have a blender they want to share? ;)

  • Hey Ladies

    Super tired today but last night I worked out 40 minutes on the tredmil (c25k) and 30 min on the bike.  I have a couple free sessions with a PT and I am going to have them show me the ropes on the weight equipment.

    This week is just dragging and really not motivated but tonight I am going out with some coworkers so I figured less calories so I can have a couple drinks tonight :) Anyone know any yummy low calorie drinks?
