treadmill recommendations?

I'm looking to purchase a treadmill for my home (I'm thinking it's the only way I'm actually going to use one is if it stares me in the face every day!)... I've been reading various review sites, but have been unsuccessful in narrowing down my search... Any suggestions/recommendations?

Looking to stay around $1000 or below... planning to use it for walking and some jogging...

Thanks!

Re: treadmill recommendations?

  • NordicTrac treadmills are awesome.  My parents have one (don't know the model), and we have one.  We have the C1500, which are made to be similar to gym treadmills.  It has a decline setting on it (which is fairly rare in home treadmills), and a wide, long deck.  It's very sturdy.  It folds, but it still takes up a lot of room and is heavy and hard to move.  We got it on sale for about $1100, but it was one of the most expensive models.  I think you'd be good to go for something a few models down.

I would definitely suggest going somewhere where they'll let you turn them on and get on them.  You cannot judge a treadmill by reading the specs.  Sears is a place that will let you jog on them.  Very helpful.
