Getting in Shape

Workout accountability, Wednesday

I didn't WANT to get up this morning.  I tried to go back to sleep.  But I couldn't!  So here I am, ready to do Insanity, because if I'm just going to lay in bed and not sleep, I might as well get up and be productive.

Now if only I could stop sneezing long enough to do the workout...

Re: Workout accountability, Wednesday

  • Good morning!

Yesterday was my rest day and I gladly ate too much food and had more than enough cheap wine. Tonight I'll be lifting and then some sort of cardio.  I might do a quick run tonight since I haven't been in awhile.

    Good luck with Insanity J&K!

  • The thought of insanity make me want to take a nap! I ran 5 miles yesterday (furthest in a long while) on the trail by the canal near my house. It was nice to be outside and running on flat! It wasn't the greatest weather, kind of cold and some flurries, but it made me sad to not see anyone else out enjoying the path- it is way under used.

I plan on doing the elliptical and shred this afternoon. I'm down 11lbs, so motivation is pretttttty high!!
  • I ate to my hearts desire last night.  We had a late night reservation so we were able to go to the gym really quick and I did a 3 miler.  I burned a lot of cals so I didn't feel that guilty going all out last night.

Tonight will be weights if we make it to the gym.  Nice job everyone!
  • Spin class was full this morning so I did 45 min on a bike.  Booooooring :(  Oh well, I put on 19 miles from Sunday to yesterday, so I really needed a cross train day.  I have yoga tomorrow and 9 miles after work.  Happy hump day ladies!

And the thought of running 5 miles makes ME want to take a nap!  Haha :)  Congrats on your loss, that's fantastic!

  • I ate fast food for the first time in months last night, so to compensate I did 90 minutes of light cardio on my bike. I felt sort of sick after the fast food so I think that was my body reconfirming that I shouldn't be eating it.

  • Last night was Chinese take-out and some serious DVR-catching up. I had grand plans of Zumba & Ripped in 30, but last minute rice krispie treat making foiled my plan.

I made these as FI LOVES rice krispie treats (it'll be our wedding "cake") and Hershey's kisses: http://danandtes.blogspot.com/2011/01/hershey-kiss-rice-krispie-treats.html

I'm doing Zumba & Ripped in 30 tonight. I'm going to move up to Week Three even though I only did 5 days of Week Two.

Have a great day everyone--I have a long President's Day weekend in my sights!

  • Good Morning All!

Sounds like everyone had a good day yesterday. :)  I did two workouts per the schedule for this workout series.  The first was a cardio routine.  It was my second time doing it, so I was able to keep up better with the choreography.  It's a bunch of samba and Latin dance moves, which I have found more difficult than I thought it would be.  The second workout was called "High & Tight".  It was a bunch of standing and floor exercises that targeted different parts of the thigh and butt.  It was hard!

So, overall I feel really good about last nights workout.  Tonight is the "Bum Bum" workout again.  I'm hoping I can get through it better this time than the last two times.  :)

  • I won't be able to get a workout in today. Tonight, our highschool is having a FAFSA completion night so I'll be busy with two sessions of that. Ugh, I'd much rather be at the gym. Although, it helps a ton of parents, so that's always a good thing :)

  • I enjoyed my evening instead of working out . But I didn't overindulge at all. Tonight I am going to a capoeira class for 1hr 1/2 so this should do the trick! Lets keep moving everyone!!
  • @Entropic- I hardly ever eat fast food (by hardly ever, I mean the last time I ate anything from a burger joint drive through was in April of 2010 and only because it was In'n'Out burger in Las Vegas)... anyway- yes, fast food makes me feel sick to my stomach after going so long without it.  It had been about 10 months since I'd had fast food when we were in Vegas, and I literally had to lay down on the couch because my body was like "WTF did you doooooo???!?!?!!"  Wierd huh?  I ate fast food all the time in college :/
  • Good morning! I did 45 min on the treadmill this morning at 4 mph, ranging from 2-3.5 incline. It was a surprisingly good workout & got my heart rate up. I'm planning to walk 20-30 min on my lunch break at a moderate pace & then do day 5 of the 30 Day Shred tonight as soon as I get home from work. I am so motivated by 30DS... It is such a great workout & I love Jillian! I'm turning into a total fangirl, lol. Good luck to everyone in achieving your goals today!

Yeah, 6 months ago I was eating it 2-3 times a week but once I started tracking what I was eating I was making healthier choices more and more often. Last night I had WANTED to get a chicken ceasar salad from the only fast food place I LIKE their salad at and they informed me when I pulled up to the drive thru that they no longer offered the salad!!! I'm a little heartbroken, because it was a tasty salad, but I guess I don't need to be spending exobitant amounts of money on fast food anyways.

When they told me they didn't have the salad I should have just gone home and cooked, but I was feeling uber lazy, so instead I got some chicken tenders and fries....lesson learned.

  • Exchanged my rest day and "cheat meal" day from Saturday to yesterday and we enjoyed a lovely meal we cooked together at home. It was nice to be able to spend some time together amidst all the wedding planning, work, and school work to finish up.

This afternoon I will run 5 miles and then train with the trainer. Motivation is up as I'm noticing subtle changes like baggy jeans and blouses though the weight is slowly coming off. Definitely feel good though. :-)

  • Hello!

New to the forum, but hoping this will help keep me in check.  Yesterday, I continued a run/walk program I started last week because I'm recovering from a back injury and don't want to overdo it too soon!  Went for 45 min, 5 min rounds of 2 min run/3 min walk...Tonight is an hour long belly dancing class that I started last week (that I ended up sore from the next day!).  Tomorrow plans for another run/walk session midday and a zumba class in the evening.

  • New Here!

Just starting to look at fitness for my big day as well as  for being in 2 weddings this year as a MOH and maid.

No fitness today because I was flying all morning and have to go to work in a bit.
Looking forward to posting with you ladies!
  • I kind of fell off the wagon for a week or so but today I finished Week 2 of couch to 5k :) I feel great but I'm excited for when I can run without feeling like I'm going to die lol.
  • Today I did week 2, day 2 of C25K after almost a week off because I flew home to my parents and there was too much snow to run outside. I was excited to get back into it and plan on finishing day 3 tomorrow- which means I get to reward myself with a new top from Lululemon!
  • Gymed yesterday, went for a little walk today....aiming for a morning gym sesh tomorrow tho!
