Tuesday Accountability

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great long weekend.

I spent most of that time working on the garage (but of course, what else would I be doing? lol). Ripped off yet another nail, this time below the quick, and it's still tender. Framed and stained some lattice for the bottom of the patio and attached it in such as way so we could still remove it to access storage area below ... and spent a couple of hours yesterday shoveling fill in front of the garage to even up the ground.

But I did manage to do my cardio this morning. I hauled my sorry self up and did 30 minutes on the elliptical, but I'm not feeling any more alert than I would if I hadn't. I'm missing the energy high I was expecting, and I don't know if it's just job dread or my body not willing to accept the new routine. Either way, I will keep trying and hope that it gets better.

And need to work on my diet in a major way. The cupboards are pretty skimpy and I've been making bad choices. Need to get to the store and stock up on everything!

    Had a slow weekend, FI was not feeling well so we kept it low key. I did get out for a good run and really pushed myself. Food has been pretty good and this weeks meal plan looks extra healthy as well.

  • Morning, Morning! I had a lot of great works outs this weekend, but unfortunately probably had too many adult beverages to counter act all my work. So fail on my part.

    Saturday I went to spin class, I haven't been in a while so it felt really good to go. And I lifted, back and abs.

    Sunday I ran 5 miles for the first time ever in my life! I seriously almost cried when I was done. I am considering doing a 10k next month but since I won't be working out at all next week I dunno if I will be ready. So if I sign up it will be at the last minute.

    Yestday FI and I ran a mile tot he gym, worked out, legs and shoulders, and ran a mile home.

    It's a short week for me, starting my 2 day work week!

  • Morning all!

    Today IS an exciting day, Souptin! I'm heading to my transfer student orientation at the University of Alberta... Ahh! Big school! Wish me luck!

    Didn't do much of anything this weekend. Went on the eliptical at my sister's for 10 minutes yesterday just for fun, but I wouldn't count that as a work out since I didn't break a sweat. Tonight I'll give it a real go.

  • hi everyone! i had bridal shower number 2 in FI's hometown (rochester ny) this weekend. other than the day of the shower i stayed pretty close to my calorie goal. i dont think i went crazy on the day of either but definitely ate too many delicious cookies made by FI's aunts and sisters!

    i ran a 5K on saturday morning (well, mostly ran, walked about a mile of it). so i definitely got some exercise. now that i am back home though i am back on track. although we are going camping this weekend so i need to be extra good to leave some wiggle room for that. today i am planning to do a cardio DVD workout when i get home from work, so i hope i can keep the motivation to get that done!

  • Good morning!

    I'm back from wedding weekend!

    Thursday was our Bachelor/Bachelorette party at a bar, I got over 10,000 steps for the day but none of it was intentional exercise. Did manage to stay within my calories for the day though (only had one beer)

    Friday was the most exhausting day of my life. I was on my feet all day and we were setting up the venue in the heat with no air conditioning. I got over 17,000 steps and hardly ate anything at all. At the end of the night I was so exhausted...the hotel we were staying at had a gym and I was originally going to get some quick exercise in before crashing, but instead I went swimming and used their hot tub to relax (soo so needed). Hopped on the scale in the hotel room and I was down another pound.

    Saturday was once again exhausting - but yay wedding! Managed to get 13,000 steps for the day, but it was so hot I had absolutely no appetite. I didn't eat nearly enough. Right after the ceremony I actually almost passed out from the heat, dehydration and having my blood sugar drop. I sat down and drank like two bottles of water and had a roll and felt a million times better.

    Sunday we had to go to the venue and clean up/pack up everything. I was so exhausted from Saturday that it was torture. Still got about 12,000 steps for the day but every single inch of my body hurt. Food was less than stellar. We had like 50 cupcakes left over from the wedding and I had I think 3 of them throughout the day. 

    Yesterday I was the biggest bum ever. My joints were all still incredibly sore from all the moving and standing I did over the weekend. I had a chillaxing day of unpacking and reorganizing the apartment and writing some thank you notes. I only got 3,000 steps in for the day and my eating was appalling (ate another 3 cupcakes) - I ended up getting pretty sick from abusing my body all weekend.

    Today I'm focusing on resetting my body and getting back into good habits. I told my husband he better take every last cupcake into work with him because I can't look at them anymore (I have such a sweet tooth, I will keep eating them if they're around)

    Like Kwith, I will AW after I catch up at work and have a moment to sort thru everything :)

    Well, I faced the scale today (dangerous since we went to Bobby Flay's Burger Palace yesterday) and was up 5 lbs from the two weeks.  Honestly, I was expecting worse with all of the fried food and drinks.  So, it's back on track today - I have salsa chicken in the crockpot, healthy food back in the fridge, detox water on tap, and just came back from a chest and arms day.

  • Nice job everyone :)

    Today is rainy and icky and I have errands to run so no working out for me today.  Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy but I might do a workout video.  As I have mentioned on several boards now, my wedding dress is slightly too big so I need to keep working out to an easy minimum and focus more on toning.

  • Maribeth,  time and money constraints are kind of making that option a "no."  Plus I'm not sure that the amount that would need to be taken in is really worth it.  It's too big by a small amount.  I'm hoping if I put more padding "up top"  that it can just hold the dress up ;)

    Well I'm back to the workout grind after the long weekend.  I didn't do fantastic with food this weekend, but I wasn't horrible.  Yesterday I was back into Bootcamp and had a rough time.  It was my first day working out since my endoscopy last Friday (which by the way, came back saying I need to go completely gluten-free... bummer!)  Today I did a zumba class and rocked it!  It was also my first day back at school.  A few people said I look like I lost weight.  Sad thing is I didn't lose much at all, but I lost inches.

  • great job, ladies!  i did a kickboxing class today, which was pretty awesome! something i've never done before but i'm glad i did and can't wait to go back!
