Workout Accountability Friday

Morning everyone! Hope y'all don't mind me starting.

Yesterday was a rough leg day on little sleep but I powered through and ate pretty well. I had chipotle for dinner but didn't go crazy with it.

Today was shoulders and tris, and I finished week 2 of C25K which I am really enjoying. We are taking the kiddo to MIL's friends house to go swimming this morning so some time in the pool will be awesome.

  • Good morning! I think starting the thread is first come first served - to be honest I like when other people start it (i'm always worried I will post it at the same time as someone else)

    Last night I did end up going to the gym despite the foot injury. I made sure to band-aid it up real good and just powered through. I did 15 minutes on the stairmaster and 25 minutes on the elliptical. It is AMAZING how out of shape you can feel after just 1 week off from working out. 

    While I was on the stairmaster some random gym-goer came up to me and told me to keep up the good work :) made me feel good that I'd made the effort to go last night.

    I think something wonky is up with my fitbit, it sent to MFP that I earned over 1,000 calories yesterday from exercise, but I only burned about 450 at the gym and maybe another 200 (at most) walking throughout the day. I didn't end up eating back all the calories it was telling me to because I just didn't believe the numbers.

    Tonight might be a rest day - my foot really wasn't too happy about the exercise yesterday, but I was so happy to just get back to the gym!

    Last night was cardio night for me, but after dentist and huge list of addresses to get for invitations I crapped out and didnt go. We have an active weekend planned so hopefully I'll get some extra in.

    If you count moving aspenite around, then I did a workout last night. We've had a run of cold, damp weather this week, which prevented garage work, but yesterday was simply overcast, so FI and I worked on the roof until dark. (He was on the roof, I was cutting and moving sheets that were making up the roof)

    I'm up 1lb this week, but it's pms week, so one is a good number (I typically gain 3-5). My eating has been pretty bad over the last week, I'm not making excuses and hate to think that I'm a stress eater. I think I'm more of the "I don't give enough of a crap to make good choices when I'm feeling down on the world" type of person. Therefore I overindulged on pepsi, and had some other not-so-good things.

    But FI had a good chat, he knows where my head is, and I'm working to get past it all. The job thing has messed me up and I'm missing my ds tremendously, and these things have been bothering me more than I realized. Now that I know what it is, I can deal and move on.

    Next week will be better!

  • Morning everyone! Happy Friday! And happy wedding weekend Maribeth!!

    So, I planned on doing eliptical when I got home from school last evening, but I took the wrong LRT (headed north instead of south), ended up on the wrong side of the tracks, literally, was verbally harassed by a group of men (always fun when you're in the wrong area and in an underground train station), and then by the time I got home an hour later than I was supposed to I was SO not in the mood for exercise. So that didn't happen.

    As usual though, my eating has been decent (thankfully). I made Escarole Soup with Turkey Meatballs for lunch/supper yesterday, delish and low in calories! Mmmm!

    This weekend should be a bit crazy. I have homework (read: lots of reading), and a bachelorette party to attend. The unfortunate part about the bachelorette party is that it's 4.5-5 hours away from where I'm living for university. That's a lot of driving for a party I think, and I'm worried that the friends that are so adamant that I go will be disappointed when I only drink 2 beers and have water the rest of the night. Being an unemployed student doesn't exactly leave much money for going barhopping/pubbing. *Sigh*. Okay, done complaining. I do doubt though that there will be much for exercise this weekend.

  • Happy Wedding Week to everyone!

    Have not posted in a while but have been an active lurker.  Eating has been on track this week but excercise has not been so great.  I will be able to get in a short run later today and this weekend I will be fitting in some hiking with the dogs.

    How does everyone relive stress?  I have been super stressed lately with only a month to go until the wedding trying to get everything done.  I usually try to get in some sort of work out besides my walk breaks at work but both jobs have been very busy. Some times working up to 70 hours a week.

    Tomorrow is the day.  We are devoting tonight (and last night) to purchasing some last minute things and finishing stuff up for next week.  So, tomorrow is the day to get back into it.  In fact, I don't think FI will let me skip the gym with him so that will be good motivation!
