Random Clothes Question

I'm volunteering at a local hospital where I also work, but for my volunteer work I cannot wear scrubs since I am roaming the patient floors (only nurses and docs can wear scrubs there which is totally understandable).  Here's my problem.

With me I need to carry around:
- pen
- golf pencils
- 7 lists of all the patients on each floor
- individual tri-fold menus for all the new patients (about 50 menus)

Problem
- I realized today my black dress pants from Kohls have no pockets (?!?)
- Shirts have no pockets to even put my pen, and the storage clipboard I carry around with me to store the patient lists and menus has snagged and ruined every nice shirt I've worn to work since we have to dress business casual

Damn not being able to wear the oh-so-handy scrub top! :(  Any recommendations on dress pants with awesome pockets I could store my pen/golf pencils?  Or any recommendations on tops?  I'm wondering if maybe there's some scrub jackets that don't look like scrubs so much since the scrubs world is becoming more "fashion conscious."

If anyone has any thoughts, please share!  I am a student so I can't blow a lot of money on clothes, but I just need at least one pair of pants and two shirts that would work.

Can you not get a portfolio? That would probably be the easiest thing and you won't have to remember to take them out of the pockets each day.

The portfolio won't really work.  I need to have a clipboard on the outside so I can have the patient list and all the menus for that floor right at my disposal.  Otherwise I'd have to zip and unzip the portfolio between each patient.  I have no place to set my things and I have to be able to foam in and out between each room, so I have to be able to make my hands completely available too.

I need a really badass fanny pack that doesn't look like a fanny pack.  LOL

It almost sounds like a waiter's apron would serve you well!
I have a few collared 3/4 length dress shirts that have a front pocket that I got at Costco (I think!) that may be what you're looking for which I'm sure TJ Maxx or Marshalls would carry. When I was a banquet server, I always got my black pants at Old Navy. They were really comfortable and have small pockets on both sides.

Thanks courtski!  Those dress shirts sound exactly like what I'm looking for.  I've found some pants at Gap online that have pockets that might work, but it would be nice to have a shirt with a pocket towards the bottom (like a scrub shirt) to put my pen in. I spent abougt 3 hours scouring the interwebs yesterday for this kind of shirt with no luck...never thought of Costco!
