C25K

I started the Coach 2 5 K last night and boy am I out.of.shape!!!!

I could barley run the last minute that I was suppose to.  This is horrible I use to be so athletic in highschool and I have since let myself go!

  • Don't worry, you'll be fine! I am starting week 5 of C25K tonight, and I can tell you that on the first day of the first week I thought I was going to die and there was no way I'd be able to do this program. Luckily, I stuck with it and now I'm starting week 5! You can do it!!!

    For some people, C25K is a little advanced and progresses a little quickly.  My FI has never been athletic and has asthma.  I asked Runner's World for advice and was told to add a few weeks of 30:30 intervals for 10 minutes before starting the program.  When we tried in the Fall, I did fine and then after a few weeks, I was drained - although there is something medical going on and that may be it.

    In a few days, if your body is still struggling, try dialing it back a touch so you don't quit.  Also, find an event and get your registration in so that you will have additional motivation.  Wait, who needs extra motivation when you have a wedding coming?

    One more thing, I find that my little interval timer by GYMBOSS makes it so much easier to keep track of the intervals.
  • I am on week 4 this week, and like PP I repeated week 3 just because I didn't feel I was ready to progress yet. No one knows your body better than you!
    For the record though, week 1 was when I noticed the biggest difference in a single week because day 1 was REALLY hard and I was surprised at how much better I did by the end of the week :)
