Getting in Shape

Finding Motivation...

Hi ladies;
So, my wedding is still a year off, but I would love to get into the better shape now, and maintain it, for my wedding and future. I'm not "overweight" by any means, but after a child and having a sitting job, I'm not in the shape I was before.
My issue is, I find it terribly difficult to find the motivation to work out. I own P90X, which I actually enjoyed doing when I did it for a month or so last year, but between work, college, being a full-time "single" mom (father is absent completely from my childs life), and general responsibilities, I am having such a hard time getting myself into work out mode. I've tried getting up super early in the morning to do it, but having CFS/ME makes it incredibly difficult to get through my day if I start with a work out.
Has anyone faced this themselves? Any tips on how to get that motivation to push myself to spend that hour every day exercising? I'd be endlessly grateful for any advice you ladies can offer! Thanks, and have a great Friday!!
Praying for a miracle!

    Mandi,

    My name is Brenda I live in Chicago and my wedding is in a year also well 10 months now! I am a beachbody coach, the producers of p90x, insanity etc.... and my job is to help motivate and hold people accountable to thier own goals. I am currently doing Insanity and it is going great there are a ton of people out there with the same problem as you and if there is something I have learned is that you need to surround yourself with people that have similar goals as yourself. If you want to email me go right ahead the email is buriostegui85@gmail.com.
  • Brenda:
    Thank you! I may contact you, and I appreciate you reaching out like that!

    My goals, well, I'd like to lose somewhere around 10#, but given my height (5'11") I'm at a "healthy" weight, just don't look the way I know I can/should. I'd like to tone up overall, basically replace the bit of fat I have with muscle mass.
    I have some difficulty with diets because with my fatigue issues, I cannot eat 3 "normal" meals, as after eating a regular sized meal I could literally pass out asleep.. even at my desk at work. CFS/ME sucks, let me tell you! I try to eat throughout the day, sometimes healthy, sometimes not (pasta, etc). However, I almost always cook dinner of lean meat and vegetables for my family. I've tried my fitness pal, and know the points system for weight watchers and all of that, but it just seems that I'm unable to get motivated like I need to be. I realistically rarely go over my goal points or calories when using a tracking system, but I've been around the same weight since having my son (who is now 6!)
    I want to look great on my wedding day, and every day.. for myself more than anything; but also for my FH and children.
    Praying for a miracle!

    You are more than welcome Mandi I love helping people:) sounds like you are kind of in a rut you may just need a change up you have my info I hope you reach out :)
  • Thank you for the additional suggestions. They're awesome. I know I'm around my "normal" weight, but it's not the scale as much as the shape. I want more tone and less jiggle, lol; (though I don't know that I'll ever have my pre-baby stomach again). I do apprecaite your taking the time to respond again. It is very helpful. Thanks!!
    Praying for a miracle!
