Spray Tans

I'm been thinking about getting a spray tan, but I really don't know much about them. I remember a couple of people getting it done, but I can't remember who :(

Where do you guys get spray tans from?

What type?

How much?

How long did they last?

A lot of girls went to Salas and gave it great reviews....but I believe it is a little pricey (I think about $60-$75) and it last about one week

    Someone correct if Im wrong.....

I started using Jergens Natural Glow lotion yesterday...for $7 I think I will try this first and if it doesnt work out then I can always go get sprayed :)

I used Salas and it was awesome.   I got a groupon and got it for $30.  It looks like the regular price is $60, but I see coupon deals for them all the time.

It lasted just over a week.

ETA:  I have used Versaspa and Mystic Tan too....and I'd go with the gradual color lotions that Chelsea mentioned before I did those for my wedding.   I always ended up with random splotches and it was just gross...and only lasted about 3 days.  (Pretty expensive, too!)

I've done the spray on through Palm Beach many years ago and it was okay.  I felt sticky and wanted to go straight home and take a shower but you have to let yourself dry first.  This may have changed though.

I've used Jergen's before and I liked it alot.  The smell got me a little but it wasn't unbearable.

I did mine at Salas... I've tried every other spray tan and self tanner under the sun.  The one at Salas is the best.

When I did mine in August, the owner told me that he wouldn't be running another Groupon for it until the Spring sometime.

It is $60, full price.  But, IMO it's worth every penny.

I'll be going for my second Salas tan this morning. Last time I told them I didn't really want to be darker, I just wanted to be more even. But then I got used to the look of the bronzer and when I rinsed it off I basically looked the same. So this time I'm going to ask to go darker, and if it's too dark I'll slough it off like Brianna did.

I used VersaSpa.  It was $38 I  think.  Used it for engagements and my bridal shower also.  It only lasts 3-4 days.

ETA:  oh and the way to avoid the splotches is to use the tan accelerator beforehand.

I used Neutrogena gradual tan (or something like that) for my B-pics and really liked it.  Even after just the one application you could see some color.

    Where is Salas?

I've done Nutragena....smell is bad and it makes me turn orange!! The mystic/versapa is ok. It made me sticky and I had splotches all on my body but it washed off after I showered and I was good to go! It just doesn't last long.

Meghan I think this stuff is new (Neutrogena Build-A-Tan).  The one thing I loved was the scent.  It smelled great initially--now it did turn to the self tanner smell after a few hours but it didn't last long.  I wasn't orange either, just a light brown.

Also when I do VersaSpa I don't get the bronzer so you don't see the color for awhile, but there's nothing splotchy to wash off.  I wish the Salas place wasn't so far.

And as far as the wedding day goes, I always recommend airbrushing over anything else.

I mystic about once a week at Palm Beach Tan. I got 3/$39 and I still have color from last Friday's session that I did before doing pictures on Saturday. The key to keeping it from being splotchy is to exfoliate beforehand. I went home after work and shaved my legs then scrubbed my whole body, and I didn't have any problems with it coming out even. The new Mystic at PBT has some dryer thing with it to that keeps you from feeling as sticky...

I just got home from Salas. They asked me if I wanted to keep the same color. I told her it wasn't dark enough, so when I was paying she gave me 25% off! That's good customer service. It's a bit of a drive for me, too, but I'll probably use them again in the future.

I have bathing suit tan lines on my back that are visible with my dress and was talking about the spray thing tonight... but my wedding is next week and I'm terrified that I'm going to come out orange... maybe go the old fashioned way and lay in a tanning bed for the next week!??!!?!?  So many things to think about!

Don't do it! What if you get burned? With airbrush or spray tan, at least if you're orange or too dark you can loofah it off. <div>
</div><div>And I was the least bit orange for either of my Salas tans, FWIW.</div>

Has anybody had an airbrushed spray tan??  What is the difference between that and a mystic tan??  Or are they the same??
