Sunday

I'm just sitting here waiting for the storm to happen. Hoping it really only lasts the 2-3 hours it's projected to on Weather.com and isn't as bad as last time. :(

If anyone needs a pick me up, here are some cute/funny links: http://www.mcgowanimages.com/blog/ (specifically, the bouquet toss -- aww!) and http://www.sadanduseless.com/2012/04/texts-from-my-dog/

Re: Sunday

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one up way too early for the weekend.  I'm waiting to hear back from my photographer to see if we're still going to do my e-pics.  From what I saw on Weather.com the rain should stop between 9-10, and we're supposed to be meeting at 9.

My dog woke up at 5, and so did I. :)

Maybe your photographer can push it back to later in the day? If it really does stop at 10 a.m., it should be dryish by mid-afternoon ... that's what I'm hoping, anyway. Who is your photog?

Also: has anyone ever done a house/condo rental for vacation? I'm looking at VRBO.com for the first time ever, and I'm kind of excited about it. Just not sure what to look for, exactly!
  • I'm up!  I'm thinking about curling up in bed for another hour or so, though.  I'm hoping these storms are at least somewhat impressive, or I will be hugely disappointed.

<div>We did this for my birthday!  It was a really easy process.  It really depends on what you want.  I wanted a place close enough that we could walk to the beach (we were in Biloxi, MS), and big enough to hold ten people.  The nice thing about VRBO is you can communicate with the owner before/after you lease it to talk over details.  Where are you thinking of going?</div>

  • I've been up for about an hour and a half..neither dog was too thrilled about the storm but were determined to be taken outside to use the bathroom. When we got back inside, they looked at me like "what were you thinking?!" Long day of work but I just want to jump back into bed and go back to sleep...ugh.

Hopefully it clears up for your photography shoot! T&P sent your way!
  • I'm up! Heading to work in a few, hell or high water.

<div>My photographer for my e-pics and bridals is my godmother (<a href="http://www.gannonphotography.com)," rel="nofollow">www.gannonphotography.com),</a> she's doing them as part of my wedding gift.  Unfortunately, she had other plans later this afternoon, so we rescheduled for for next Saturday afternoon.  I'm annoyed that I got up earlier than I had to, but it's pretty nice laying on the couch listening to the thunder.</div>

</div><div>I haven't done this but I definitely would look into it the next time I head to a vacation destination beachy spot after my experience in South Padre.  Never again to I want to pay $200/night to stay in a seedy Comfort Inn.  I'd rather do the condo rental on the beach for the extra money.  Hope you find something that works well for you!</div>

  • Professorscience -- You must be disappointed with the "storms" this morning.  I was hoping for something a little more impressive as well.  Looks like 5 are dead after a tornado NW of OKC last night around midnight.  Sadness. :(

I went to work for awhile yesterday evening and then decided to head up to Plano briefly to check out one other wedding band on sale at Kays (also sucked) and then go to Staples/Office Max really quickly to pick up some little cards to print our wedding website info on to go in with our invites.  I wasn't aware that office stores closed at 8PM on Saturday nights instead 9PM like they do the rest of the week. So I get to trekk across town to try again this morning before FI tries to Skype me this afternoon.

Other than that, I don't plan on doing much today.  Feeling incredibly tired and unmotivated.  I've been so tired lately for absolutely no reason.

Florida, near Disney (but we're mostly going to be at the beach). The hotels all seem to be Comfort Inns and the like -- nothing too special. So I'm looking at the condos that are close to the beach. Ideally I'd love a balcony with a view, Wifi, Cable TV, washer/dryer, for about $800/week. It definitely is possible -- there's just a LOT of different options! And all with totally different decor. I admit, I'm letting that distract me, when it really shouldn't.

We rent from VRBO all the time, and have always had great experiences. We've rented in places like Lake Tahoe, wine country, Austin and we have two more houses already rented for the summer. Good luck!!

I'm thankful our new little puppy hasn't minded any of the storms we've had this last week. He's slept right through all of the thunder last weekend, which made me happy. Today when I took him out, he ran and ran around the backyard loving the sprinkle and wet grass!
  • I'm not going to do anything today. I'm so tired and going to hole up in my room with the tv, dog, and my laptop. I might venture out to get groceries later.

    UUUGGGHHHH

FMIL just facebooked me (she totally has my phone #) saying she wants to go out to lunch so she can 'apologize and explain' which to me means it's going to be a "I'm sorry if I offended you, but...." type of conversation where she's really not sorry at all.

I would rather not, but it will keep the peace for me to sit there, and if I do it on a lunch break it can't last more than an hour and I'll have a quick getaway.
  • Julie, do you have gap protection through your lender? It wouldn't cover your down payment, but it would cover the cost of your loan if your new car got totaled. State Farm Bank includes it. Marie, honestly, if there's lots of choices, I do look at the decor. And the reviews.

</div><div>I would be more pissed about losing my downpayment honestly.  It was 25% of the cost of the car.  That's pretty significant.
