Workout Accountability: Tuesday

Morning everybody!

I'm pretty pumped, I ran 5 miles last night! I increased my usual speed for 4 miles and did a nice slow jog for the last mile. My legs are only a little sore today. Tonight will be lifting and the elliptical.  Lifting days make me a little anxious now, since the new year= a ton of gym newbs and it's a little more crowded than usual.  It's getting tougher to snag a bench.

How did everyone else do?

  • Good run Jude :)  Is there a weightlifting class you can do in case the gym is too crowded?  I like Body Shape, it's similar to Body Pump.

    I am actually doing my weight class this evening & then 3 quick miles on the treadmill.  Hardest part of my day will be grocery shopping after the gym... I better take a snack with me so I don't buy a bunch of crap!
  • Got 60 minutes of light cardio on my bike, then I did some free weights last night. Today my shoulders are REALLY sore and tight - guess free weights are pretty effective (OUCH).

    Also spent like 2 hours in the grocery store running around and super-shopping, which I am totally counting as exercise because it was exhausting! (WORTH it though, saved over $150 on groceries!!!!)

  • Thanks Medi!  I wish my gym offered a body pump class but they don't.  It's a pretty new gym and still kind of small.  All they offer right now are HIIT classes.  Good luck with your grocery shopping, I don't think I'd fare too well if I shopped after a workout.  A ton of breads and cheeses would some how find their way into my cart.

  • Didn't do much yesterday besides stairs at work and walking the dog.  Today will be pretty much the same.  Looking forward to get back into it on Wednesday.  Life is slowly creeping back to normal.
  • I haven't been in these threads yet, but it can't hurt, right? :)  I just started doing myfitnesspal, which seems to help, too.

    I ran about 2 miles yesterday, plus 30 minutes on the arc trainer.  It was my first day back in about a month, so I didnt want to go bananas.

    Tonight I'm trying something new: Moksha (hot) yoga.  I'm SUPER excited but also very nervous :)  I'm chowing down on some extra calories and drinking lots of water so I'm prepared!
  • nycheryl- you will have to let me know how hot yoga goes!  I really want to do it but I'm a little nervous to go, especially by myself!

    I definitely will report back!  I couldn't sleep last night because I was so excited/nervous.  A friend of mine goes to yoga regularly and warned me about the possibility of fainting - she just told me to go into child's pose whenver I feel off.  I intend to do that, even if it means sitting in a hot room for 60 minutes in child's pose.  Haha!

    ETA: I have to remind myself, too, that it's my first class.  I am not going to push myself too hard.  I just need to mix it up and this sounded cool :)

    It's okay, L - we can hold each other accountable now that I know you are in GIS, too! :)

    Did my Level 2 of 30DS. Feeling good that I'm being consistent--I can honestly say I've been doing so much better with eating and exercising in the past 2 or 3 months than I have my entire life. Great job everyone!
