Workout Accountability: Thursday

Good morning!

I lifted last night (upper body) and did 40 minutes on the elliptical plus ab exercises. That was my last time at the gym, I'm going to miss it there. Tonight I'm off since we still have a ton of packing to do.  I probably won't be able to work out again until Saturday. 

How did everyone else do?

    We took the dog for a long-ish walk last night, but that was about it. 
    I've been feeling like such garbage about myself and my eating lately, so FI and I talked last night and decided to start p90x together.  He already knows a bit of the program, and we think it will be fun to have something to do together that isn't exactly wedding-centric over the next three months (since there are also 92 days until the wedding.).
    Nevertheless, I am scared sh*tless to start this program.  I've never really done exercise 'programs,' so committing for 90 days scares me.  I'm also scared of the plio days because my knees aren't that wonderful.  We're diving in and starting tonight, though...

    Took last night off....way to sore from body pump on tuesday...today im feeling the same, but going back to the gym tonight for cardio and light weights.
    food wise Im doing great-FI and I do all of our own cooking from scratch and we eat oodles of fresh stuff....still trying to keep the afterwork snack in check but this week has been pretty successful.

  • Yesterday was my day off. And I had my first dress try on/fitting yesterday!! It has to be taken in quite a bit - so I was excited about that. It's even prettier than I remember!!

    This morning I went to spin class. I got a messed up bike again! ugh! How freaking hard is it to turn the gears off when you're done?? I don't get it. I hopped on another bike like 10 minutes into class.

    Lobsters - I have been considering trying p90x. But I'm not always a fan of DVD work outs. It sounds scary though!!!

    Tomorrow is my biweekly weigh in! ah!

  • Good morning all!

    Yesterday I had a shortened workout, had to stop by the store to get some stuff for FI because he got a job yesterday!

    I did still manage to get 100 crunches in, 20 minutes on the stairmaster and 25 minutes on the elliptical. I felt like it was a good burn and I had over 10,000 steps for the day.

    Bonus story: So I wrote about losing my FitBit the other day...well after it happened I wrote a lengthy e-mail to the company to complain about the quality of the clip and explianed my situation. The company responded pretty quickly and is now sending me a brand new one for free! Talk about AMAZING customer service! I'm blown away by how much they care about their customers. I just wish I hadn't ordered another fitbit off of ebay right after losing mine! Guess the free one is now FI's! Maybe it will help motivate him :)

  • I ran 4 miles yesterday outside while following FI on his bike.  Talk about a way to quicken your pace!  

    FINALLY after waiting and waiting I have an appointment with a GI specialist next week.  I'm so hopeful that my belly issues will be resolved soon.
  • Hi everyone.  I did well yesterday...stayed under my calories and went to a weights/cardio class at the gym.  Super sore today! FI gets home today from a business trip, so no gym tonight.  Probably will try to get in a long walk with him after dinner though. 
  • Morning ladies - it's almost Friday!

    This morning I lifted shoulders & did 30 minutes of cardio.  

    Last night I made my super yummy & healthy veggie soup to have on-hand for the week so I have healthy, fast eating options.  

    Maribeth, I HATE when I get a bad spin bike!!!  It's one of the reasons my friend & I show up so early to class, to stalk which bikes are available that we know are good.  It totally ruins my day when I get a bad bike.

    Lobsters, I know that feeling well. I think that's great that you and your FI are starting P90x together.

    Last night I had 30 minutes of cardio and then an hour with the trainer for legs. My whole lower body is dying.

    Tonight I am swimming.

    I made galbi last night which was delicious. I just have to keep up with healthy eating to lose the last 10 lbs. My next weigh in is June 8th.

  • Despite a coworker's birthday yesterday that brought cake to the office, I stayed under my calorie target yesterday. I also bought 8 lb. weights to up my 30DS regimen. This morning I was a chicken, though, and stuck with the lighter weights. I'm going to start up with the 8 pounders next week.

    Tonight I'm heading to happy hour but I'm going to have one glass of red wine and that's it.

  • Had a kick ass morning at the gym....40 minutes on the elliptical and half hour of weights and abs circut. I'm really starting to see a difference in the way my clothes fit now and can see the muscle tone in my arms... 115 more days!!

    Yesterday was a swapped day off for me since it was the H's birthday and I spent the day buying ingredients to cook him dinner. Though I splurged (calorie-wise) to make a super delicious chocolate and raspberry cake from scratch, I was calorie saavy in the dinner planning. We made a porcini mushroom crusted filet mignon with herbed mashed potatoes and creamed spinach (Elie Krieger's recipe from her book "So Easy")... it was all together 400 calories for dinner! (before cake of course). I had never cooked filet mignon before and was even more nervous by the guy at the meat counter who ominously tells me "You CANNOT mess these filets up... you must cook them right!!!" Well after following the guy's instructions they came out sooooooooo good. We also enjoyed a wonderful glass of cabernet from the case of wine we received as a wedding gift from a family friend... great birthday dinner. It was also special because it was our first as H & W and I hadn't baked a cake for him in four years. My cooking and baking skills have definitely evolved since then.

    Today I'm running intervals at the beach and will do some hill repeats at this spot where it's a steep enough hill to work the legs. My trainer is having me change things up since, after talking to him and looking over my journal, I was starting to hit a plateau. I've never actually paid attention to any plateaus in the past, but now I can see how that impacts my motivation. So now it's time to change things up!

  • Hi everyone!

    I feel SO good today because of the way I ate yesterday, I am just so happy to be home. I didn't exercise, but the scale shows that it appreciates my food choices yesterday as well - not those cheesy greasy foods of Mexico (that are delicious of course).

    On a peeved note, I went to the grocery store yesterday to stock up on food for the next week, lots of fresh fruits (apples, oranges, grapefruits, strawberries, pears), got some fish, chicken breasts, greek yogurt, hummus, whole wheat pitas, etc. Now, you should know, I live with FI and his parents - who I love - but OMG! Vultures! I have no pitas left, no oranges, no grapefruits, no strawberries. I told FMIL she has to go to the grocery store today. My rent is supposed to actually cover food - not pay rent and buy her food! I usually buy food for myself as it is, but come on! I don't pay you rent AND buy the family food. I'm a student for pete's sake! Anyway, if she doesn't go buy more food, looks like I'll have to. Rant over!

    I'm going to go running today, whether it be outside or on the treadmill. I really don't like going on the treadmill, but it's really cold here today.. only 5 celsius and raining. If I feel brave, I may go outside...

    Lukeyloo, you're so brave to get 8 lb. weights. I was using 2 lb and 5 lb weights Embarassed and still felt like I was dying. So weak. But good for you! You're going to have great arms.

    I'm so jealous of all of you ladies that are so close to your big days! Mine's not for.. 14.5 months-ish. Which is good too I suppose, since I've got about 40 lbs. to go!
