Morning!  Vball-I'm in the opposite situation, we have NO food in the house because we were gone all weekend and I haven't gone grocery shopping.  Luckily, I think there's enough in the freezer to make do.  Also, I got a nasty cold, it's going away quickly, but I'm still eating "cold" food-comforting, warm, but not a lot of it.  Also, there's the new WW system, so these are the old points, but I'm excited to check out the new system since it includes protein.

    B: peppermint mocha (4)-now 6
    L:  potato soup (4)-now 5
    D: Crockpot chicken casserole (11)-now 8  green beans (0)

    Total: 19 -still 19
    Target: 21-now 29?

E: none until this cough goes away.  It's fading fast, so maybe tomorrow.

  • Katie-
Hope you feel better soon.  My DH has had a nasty cold for a while now and his isn't getting better.  Glad to hear yours is getting better.
When you know more about the new WW points system, can you pass along any info to me?  I'm just doing the points on my own and using books that I bought when I was a member.  I may need to look into re-joining online or buying an updated book.  I'm anxious to hear what is different.

  • Vball-  I just went to the WW website.  It uses carbs and protein to calculate points now.  The point value budgets are different too.  Instead of 35 flex weeklies, now it's 49 and I went up to 29 daily points.  I'm still trying to figure it out, it's going to take some getting used to, but I think it's good that they're counting other nutrients now.  Also all fruits are 0 pts and most veggies are 0 too.

I'm a little nervous about the new program. But maybe it's what I need to kick my butt back into gear.

    B: kix (2), ff milk (1)
S: tall peppermint mocha frap light (3)

    S: yogurt (1), granola (4), blueberries (0)
    D: general tsao's chicken (7), brown rice (3)

    E: 30 Day Shred Level 1 - if I have time

    Total: 28
Target: 32 on the new plan??
  • Jenn-  I'm hoping that it will force me to reexamine everything I eat, since there are different values for EVERYTHING now.  The down side is that I used to be able to look at a nutrition label and know how many points it would be and now I have no clue, but I think it'll be a "back to basics" kind of thing.  Also, foods that are bad for  you, but low point (like my mocha this morning) are not like that as much anymore, so I think it'll steer me towards healthy foods more.

  • Yeah, that's the goal of this new plan - healthier choices. I know this "back to basics" stage will be annoying at first, but if you think about it, when was our weight loss the best? In the beginning when we were learning everything and being extremely careful to stick to our new "diet" at the time, hoping that someday it would turn into a lifestyle.
  • Sounds cool.  I wonder if they have any companion books with point values for foods.  I've got the eating out one and the basic foods books from weight watchers that I use all the time.  I might have to see if they have a revised versious.  I like that they are taking into account more than just fat and fiber though.  And yeah!  Fruits are 0?  Is that all fruits????  I will eat more fruits now that I know that.  :)

  • Vball-Maybe sign up for the free month online?  I think it's going to take me a couple of weeks to figure out/feel comfortable with the new system.
