So Nati's post earlier this week, and a topic in a family communication class got me thinking. You are supposed to marry a person opposite in the birth order from you, according to self-appointed experts. For example, Im the oldest of 2 and FI is the youngest of three. 

There are times I can definitely tell that Im the oldest; I like to plan a lot more things than he does, but he is a lot cleaner than me, which is backwards. 

So the question: What is FI's birth order compared to yours? Do you fit the opposite rule? Does it make a difference in your relationship?

Also- July 20th/21st Ladies- Its 6 months today/tomorrow!!!

I cant believe we are already to this point!! Im so excited!! still feel like there's a lot to do though....

hmmmm fiance is the youngest of three (he has two older sisters) and i am an only child....we are ABSOLUTELY OPPOSITE in pretty much every way, personality-wise, so i bet it did have something to do with our childhood lives.

My fiance and I are both oldest of three kids, he has two younger sisters and I have two younger brothers. We are both very, very similar personality-wise, and we're both in the same profession! We're also born one day apart, although he's two years older than me (he's Sept. 14 and I'm Sept. 15). Needless to say, we bicker a lot, but it's mostly in good fun.

I am the youngest of 2 and FI is an only child.  I don't think that he fits the 'only-child' mold at all.  He is not self-centered and he is very easy to get along with.  We bicker too but it's because we know each other really well and feel comfortable so we know that it is not reflective of our overall relationship.

We are both the oldest children.  We are both very responsible, problem solvers and make an excellent team!

I'm the youngest and FI is the oldest, so it looks like we fit the "rule."

I don't think it really makes a difference in our relationship, to be honest.  I've never thought about it until right now. 

(6 months tomorrow for me!!!)

We're both the youngest, and we're both definitely stubborn, which sometimes poses a problem because neither likes to lose an argument and we both always have to get the last word in. I don't think I'm the crazy "I need attention" form of a youngest child, though, so I don't think I'm the complete model for that. 

We're actually a lot alike in many ways since we're both youngest and it puts us on the same page in a lot of our thinking which I think is great in our relationship.

I'm the oldest and he's the youngest. Sometimes we fit our roles and sometimes we don't. I wouldn't say our birth order affects our relationship/ interaction with each other. Rather I'm the one that teaches him how to loosen up and he teaches me how to be stronger and more responsible with certain things. But I'd think that we fit out astrology personality signs when it comes to our relationship more than our birth order compatibility.

I remember learning about this in my psychology class. They "say" two oldest can't be together because of control issues but There is always an exception to the rule. I'm the youngest and my fi is the oldest.

I'm the youngest and he's the oldest. And we are opposites in sooo many ways (he is outgoing and adventurous and I'm shy and a huge wuss).

I am the oldest of two and FI is both an only child and the oldest to his two half brothers.  We are similar in the way we view our future and our morals, etc., but we are very different in other ways. We are both stubborn and don't like to be bossed around, but although we are both outgoing, FI is much better at socializing and negotiating than I am.  I am also kind of a nerd, and FI hates anything school-related. We always say that we would never have gotten together if we had met in high school or college.  He was definitely the bad boy type and I was a goody-two shoes lol.

Not only are we both the oldest but our birthdates are 3 days apart so if you believe in astrology we're the same sign too. 
We are both incredibly stubborn (really sucks when you can't agree on where to go out and eat) and both indecisive (really sucks when you can't decided on where to eat!). But we complement each other well and rarely argue and when we do argue we're usually laughing about how stupid each other was during the arguement about 10 mins. later.
They say the oldest tends to be the controling one and I can definitely see this.
We're both pretty level headed and have the same morals.. but I don't know if thats birth order or just the way we were raised.

I know this sounds crazy but this question has been asked SO MANY times. LOL I just think it's funny because to me it's such a random question. 

I'm an only child and FI is the oldest. We're both stubborn, control freaks, and like to debate the most ridiculous things. People often think we're arguing, but that's just how we talk. Lately we've been trying REALLY hard to talk nicer to each other.

Ditto all of that! He's older, but his birthdate is the day before mine. Actually, his sister is the day after mine, and his best friend is the day after that, and his father is two day later, so needless to say, lots of birthdays in one week!

FI is the middle of 3 boys and I am the oldest of two. We both have only brothers. He has the typical charateristic of a middle child and I'm the typical oldest child.

FI is very easy going and doesn't really mind doing anything and not a lot bothers him. I am very stubborn and loud, I like getting things in my way, I am more outgoing.

I think birth order is probably more relevant if there are several kids in the family though, not just two. Large age differences may also make a difference, but otherwise, almost all of my previous relationships were with the oldest "child". They varied incredibly, but most didn't have more than one sibling. FI and his brother are 8 years apart though, so maybe that's why he's more mature than the other guys lol I don't know...interesting theory, though!

I am the oldest, FI is in the middle. He is right in the middle of his full siblings and somewhere towards the end if we include all the half siblings (there are 7 of them all together). We are complete opposites. In fact when we got together, and really to this day, people are surprised since we are so different, but we are alike on the important stuff and our differences make life interesting.

I am the oldest in my family, FI is a middle child (4 boys,2nd to the youngest) we have a lot in common but we are also different in many ways..I like to take care of things, he likes to put them off..drives me crazy! lol

I'm the second to youngest out of 6 children and my fiance is the youngest of 5. I don't think either of us really fit the roles or opposites thing with regard to birth order, but he's definitely more outgoing than I am.

We are both oldest of 2 with also a younger sister each.  We are pretty different personality-wise, I'm much more outgoing and he is more reserved.  We get along though most of the time and compliment each other more than anything.

Huh, I never of hear this before. I am the youngest and he is the oldest so I guess this applies to us. We are SO opposite in everything. I can say white and he will say black.

I am an only child and FI is # 5 of 6.  I have no idea what this says about our personalities.
