Work out poll- time?

I read an article that said that 90% of people who successfully keep weight off  work out for an hour a day. I'm curious because we've all heard 30 minutes every day, and now this. Also, does this include weight training? Comments, opinions, debates, GO! :)

I always do at least 30-45 minutes of cardio, and then weights which generally takes another 30-45 minutes depending on the routine ive worked out and I burn on average 500-700cal.
  • I do 30min of weights and 30-40 min cardio
  • i do 2 hours of cardio 6 days a week- burn 1200 everyday at  a minimum
  • With my new running program I run around 30-90 minutes 6 days a week, and then do weight training three days a week on top of that. (not on the 90 minute days, obviously.)

  • I do about 35 minutes of cardio. I also do 30DS which is another 20-25 minutes of mixed weights and cardio. Ideally I do both on the same day, though there are some days where it is one or the other, or something else (yoga).

  • I think they say 30 minutes is good for your health, but for losing weight, an hour 5-6 days a week is better. So, that's what I shoot for.

  • My workout routine varies every single day, so I didn't really know what to vote as. lol

    Monday - 30DS (weights & cardio) 30 min, C25K (cardio) 30ish minutes
Tuesday - 30DS (weights & cardio) 30 min, Dance class (cardio) 75 minutes
    Wednesday - 30DS (weights & cardio) 30 min, C25K (cardio) 30ish minutes
Thursday - 30DS (weights & cardio) 30 min, Dance class (cardio) 75 minutes
Friday - 30DS (weights & cardio) 30 min, Ballet class (SLOW, so strength training?) 120 minutes
Saturday - 30DS (weights & cardio) 30 min, Pilates class (weights + cardio) 120 minutes, misc machines at the gym (cardo) 60 minutes
    Sunday - rest
  • Oh, Friday is also C25K (cardio) for 30ish minutes.

So I usually get between 30 minutes - 3.5 hours of workout in, depending on the day.
  • I workout 3-4 days a week. aerobic weight training 1 hr on Tuesday (consistent), cardio DVDs that incorporate weight/strength the other 2-3 days. My doctor has me on a 1000 calorie a day diet, he prefers that i have water but allows me to drink V8 Fusion Light or Gatorade Low Cal because they both have roughly 50 or less calories per 8oz glass. I use sparkspeople.com to track workouts, water intake and food. I've lost at least 2lbs per week except for the week that I rebelled and decided I was gonna eat and not workout Sealed
  • I'm a part-time aerobics instructor, so my schedule might seem a little much, but:

Mondays: 1 hour weightlifting, 1 hour cardio
Tuesdays: 45 min running, 1 hour yoga
Wednesdays: 1 hour weightlifting, 1 hour cardio
Thursdays: 1 hour, 45 min cardio
Fridays: 1+ hour cardio (long runs, swimming, or biking)
    Saturdays: recovery runs (~30 min)
Sundays: rest days, I don't try to do extra exercise on these days

This is my ideal schedule, typically I would say I only miss 1 or 2 of these/week at most, though
