Healthy Dessert ideas?

I am looking for healthy dessert ideas...anyone?

Sometimes after dinner I like to have a snack (although I try not to)
but sometimes I am looking for something sweet.

What do you do to satisfy your sweet tooth?

We're doing dessert tonight.  I make up an apple crisp, freeze individual portions, and then micro-zap them as we want them.  Here is the recipe I use:

    Ingredients
3 medium baking apples, cored, sliced thin (leave skin on for extra fiber)
    1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbsp sugar (still good if cut down to 1 T)
2 Tbsp flour (I use GF flour)

    Topping:
    1 cup quick oats
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/4 cup brown sugar
    2 Tbsp heart-healthy margarine

    Nutritional Info

    Fat: 3.6g
    Carbohydrates: 24.4g
    Calories:131.5
    Protein: 1.5g
Mix first four ingredients and place into 9-inch (square or round) baking dish.

In small bowl, mix Topping ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle topping over the apples.

Bake at 325 degrees until apples are soft and topping is golden brown (about 30 minutes).

    Number of Servings: 8

*Totally not bad for you and low enough in calories that I can usually add some organic vanilla ice cream on top.

*i also do smoothies, a single Ghiradelli dark chocolate bar (50 cal), fruit anything, and cinnamon-sugar popcorn.
  • Awesome thank you!
  • I eat 1/4 cup of butter toffee peanuts and a small orange. I have a sweet tooth at night as well and this seems to be doing the trick.

i'm so glad it's citrus season!  I've been munching on clementine oranges for the last two weeks.  SO good!

I can not get enough of them. I bring one to have with lunch and then I have one at night when I get a bit hungry.
  • Although she uses a lot of processed foods and artificial sweeteners, I do like going to HungryGirl for a sweets fix. I made her Salted Caramel Mix treat and it was delicious. Only 4 Weight Watchers points per serving.

  • Jello Temptations French Silk - I am obsessed with this right now (arguably NOT healthy, but considering it is rather small and portion controlled I still like to eat it)

I'm not opposed to fake sugar and chemicals so I happen to also enjoy the Fiber One 90 calorie brownies. I am never tempted to eat more than one and it manages to sate my sugar craving.

Obviously fruit is always a good choice, I try to keep apples around my apartment at all times to help make better decisions.

When I have an ice cream craving I have Yoplait Whips that I put in the freezer and are a great alternative to the ice cream (they even have vanilla and chocolate flavors, though I prefer the key lime and orange cream flavors).
