    Valerie,

When creating your account on the Knot you agreed to the TOS which included statements disallowing vendor activity of any kind.  The advertisers on the Knot pay well for the privilege and it's certainly not very cool to assume that you should get free advertising.  Regardless of requesting people email you for more information you're obviously participating in vendor activity.

I am sure that you feel your program is the perfect weight loss tool out there, and that buying into this shake based program people will lose weight but it doesn't change the fact that by disregarding the rules you agreed to, it shows either a blatant disregard for rules or an inability to read.  Neither of these traits are something that would compel me to put my body's health and fitness into your hands or the hands of those you advertise for.  Please stop posting.

    Thank you,

    Anna
  • I don't know why I would want to join you for anything after you called me rude. I'm all sad now.
    Cry

    See?

I guess I am going to just go eat my healthful dinner of braised chicken, mustard greens, and lemon mint couscous. Hopefully I'll be able to taste it over my tears.
  • what I posted tells nothing about me selling anything, also I just put in my personal email address which is not related to any company. So how am I a vendor if I never said anything about a company directly and I am giving out my own personal information.
Honestly I just want people to be aware of a 90 day challenge I have found and that I am doing. All because what I am doing works.

    Thanks
  • When grown women make fun of someone who has a disability and spelled something incorectly I feel that it is rude and just harsh. Why would you even take the time to put someone down on something so silly. does it make yall feel better about yourself?
These boards are not here to make fun of, put down, or treat people the way that she was treated.

The boards are also not here for vendors to use to sell things--or even to solicit emails about amazing products. I'm not the one doing it wrong.

ETA: For what it is worth, I wasn't making fun of her because she spelled something incorrectly. I was giving her a hard time because she was spamming the boards with advertisements for a product.

As I said in my other post, I too have dyslexia.  Not pushing the spellchecker button is pure laziness and disregard for how posts read to those that view them. She was selling something.  Therefore she was in violation of the TOS set down by the knot which include:

*No soliciting of any kind on the message boards or in the chat room -- it is neither allowed nor appreciated by the community. If you are interested in advertising opportunities, please contact salesinfo@theknot.com

*Any member of our community, including a bride, involved in a wedding related business must adhere to the same rules as wedding professionals and are not permitted to post on The Knot message boards.

As this is a fitness and healthy eating board for brides and you are indeed soliciting emails:

" If your interesdted in what this 90 day challenge is you should send me a message on my email and I can tell you all about it. Whats even better is there is a way to get your shakes for free! "

You do indeed qualify as a vendor as well.

I don't get why this is so hard for you to understand.  You are not permitted to solicit. Period.
  • Ok thats cool...
I guess you dont have anything better to do than sit on this board all night and jump all over people for stupid things. If people dont want to concider taking a challenge then just dont even respond to what I said. If they do want to join me an a challenge that I am doing myself to lose my baby weight and get healthier before my wedding, then message me  on my PERSONAL email. Im not a vendor....

Then why not post all the information here if you're not a vendor?  If you had checked out the board before posting you'd know that we often do challenges and various group fun threads.

Also, I'm the moderator.  It's kinda my job to police the board.  As for not having anything better to do..  nope.  Not really.  It's 1am here.  I've worked out, got all my food calories in, and done all my house chores.  So I'm here for good.
  • Thanks for sticking up for all of us Anna! I've been following this board for a while, and the reason I like to read the posts here is because I like the support that the women on this board give each other.

You know what makes me the most angry about planning a wedding? It's the constant barrage of unsolicited vendors that I deal with on the phone, in my email inbox, and at my catering hall. I get phone calls at all times of the day from limosine companies, photographers, videographers, and all sorts of other -ographers that I have never even thought of. It makes me feel like my wedding celebration is simply an opportunity to line other people's pockets, rather than creating a memorable event for myself, my future husband, and our families to remember and cherish and look forward to. And now here, on this board of wonderful women, I have seen post after post doing the exact same thing, except this time, advertising about "diet aids" under the guise of being one of us.

If you vendors want to make sales, do a little research on SEO. You will get many more fish to bite. As for the women on this board, we are all clearly fed up with what is quite obviously a transparent solicitation attempt, and we're all going to keep reporting you guys and none of us are going to go to your website or email you. It seems to me like the ladies on this board are, like me, pretty unhappy to have this kind of post clutter up the discussions. Isn't it now just about annoying us rather than trying to sell us something? It seems to me that your attempts have been thwarted time after time.

I like your sass!  I also love the word thwarted.

Thanks for being awesome and hitting the nail right on the head.  I too was inundated with unsolicited informationg from vendors during the wedding planning process.  Sure I wanted info from some of them, but not the 20 extra "Are you sure you don't want our DJ? Let me tell you why we're fabulous!" emails.  UGH.  I'm so glad that's over.
  • :-) Usually I can keep my sass under control, but the recent barrage of vendor postings has gotten under my skin (obviously). I guess we all are targets of advertising as brides. At first I was shocked, now I'm just jaded.
