Workout Accountability: Monday

Good morning, hope everyone had a nice weekend!

I worked out Friday night then took Saturday off since FMIL was visiting.  Yesterday I lifted then did the elliptical and some ab work.

Tonight will be a 3-5 mile run.

    Just jumping in here.  I took the weekend off and then got up this morning for a kickboxing class.  I may try to take a short walk this evening after dinner as well.

  • Didn't mean to take the weekend off, but I kicked my own butt so hard on Friday afternoon that I could hardly move Saturday, and I was still sore last night.

    Once I finish my coffee, I'm going to pop in a DVD and work on my upper body.

  • Got back late last night from our funeral travels.  I am so completely exhausted.  I have grocery shopping, laundry, and cleaning tonight after work.  That plus exhaustion leaves no time for the gym.  I gave the dog a walk this morning and will probably do another late night walk tonight to make up for not working out.  Honestly, I probably wont be back to the gym until mid-week because of all of this.  On a good note, the funeral service was absolutely wonderful and I managed to eat fairly healthy the whole trip.

    lbarr, I'm glad your traveling went okay but sorry you're exhausted.  It's okay to take a break when you have all that on your plate.  Plus you're still being active by walking!

  • Great job ladies :)  Lbarr- even when you can't work out you still stay active with the dog & eating as well as you can is a big plus!

    I did 12.5 miles Saturday and obviously that was about all the physical activity I could handle in one weekend!
  • I had a good weekend!

    Saturday I did a 4.25 mile run and Sunday I did 40 minutes on my elliptical.

    Today is body pump and a two mile run!

  • Travelled this weekend so of course I ate worse than I wanted to and didn't get a workout in Friday OR Saturday. Managed to do 45 minutes last night on my bike, I'll do another 60 tonight (maybe longer - FI just started night classes so I'll obviously have some free time to do what I want). Might also try to get some free weights into the mix for the evening as well.

  • Finally got back to the gym after the holidays and all the traveling. Ran two miles on Friday, Zumba and Spin classes on Sat, and a three mile run/walk on Sunday. Spin class again tonight... dress fitting next Monday... yikes.
  • 20 minute Zumba Kinect class + Day 9 of 30DS. It kicked my butt today for some reason. I also think I'm developing a mild case of shin splints. I am exercising in like 8 year old sneakers. I think I need to get a new pair . . .
    Anyone have some good stretches for shins?

  • I went to the gym today and walked 1.75 miles. School started again so I'm just trying to do as much as I can. I will probably do a workout DVD tonight :)
  • lizziemc1775---this sounds weird but do toe taps. Like you're listening to a good song, just tap your toes. You will feel it in your shins. You can even do it sitting on the couch. Thats what the cross country coach at my old high school taught me to do. I'm doing 30DS too :)

    Did Level 2 on 30 Day shred. Kickin my booty, but its totally worth it. Off to Hawaii in a week! So excited to show off my progress in my new bikini :)

  • Thanks for the tip, csweaney. I tapped my toes while eating lunch. I also tried to sneak in some standing calf raises, too, without drawing too many strange looks from my students. It's really killing me, so I think I have to take tonight off. May try my Body by Bethenny yoga DVD, though, if it's low impact!
