Workout Accountability: Tuesday

Good morning!  How's everyone feeling today?

I was really sore yesterday. and after my hellish commute home, pretty tired too so I took the day off.  I'm glad I did because I'm much more energized today.  I'm lifting later and will do 40 minutes on the elliptical too.  

Oh and I forgot to ask yesterday, what are your goals for the week?  Mine is to lose at least 1 pound.  I'm trying to get down 2 pounds by my birthday (in 2.5 weeks).  

ETA: Wow, so apparently I can't add/read a calendar. My birthday is in 10 days, not 2 weeks. Christ.

    Students are taking the next round of their standarized tests this morning and I'm getting a quick reprieve from proctoring.

    Last night I restarted Week 8 of C25K. It was definitely a struggle, but I made it to the end of 28 minutes. I was super slow, but I was running.

    My goal this week is to drink WATER. I totally did not do this last week; instead, I drank diet soda and iced tea. I definitely felt bloated by the end of the week.

    After reaching the high 80s yesterday, the temperature is a little lower today. We sat out on the deck last night and ate our dinner. It was beautiful--I could have stayed out all night.

  • You deserve a day off after the race!

    I went to the gym to do the elliptical yesterday so I could avoid heat stroke- it was pretty hot in there too though and I sweat like a maniac- even my shoulders were sweating, I never even realized there were sweat glands there!

    I have been slacking a little on the running so I am thinking I'll punish/push myself with a long hilly run this afternoon. It is a route I've done before but not well so it should be a good challenge.

    My goals this week are to drink at least 48oz of water everyday at work and to lose 1-2 lbs by my dress fitting on Monday! I know if I stick to eating within my calories and exercising it will happen! Not GIS related goal is to finish my final for one class, really work on a group project for another, and get a good start on finishing all the work for the third- in general, just stop being a slacker with classes!
  • Morning!

    I'm doing weights this afternoon because I'm finding that I don't have enough energy to lift my normal weights in the morning, and I'm hoping I can motivate myself to bike after.

    My goal this week is to lose the weekend weight and turn my eating around.  Day one (yesterday) of healthy eating went really well, so I'm hoping to be able to keep it going tonight while FI works late (which are usually the nights I binge, out of boredom.)

  • Good morning!  I did not want to go, but I did make it to Zumba last night.   There were only four of us there, so I guess a lot of people didn't want to go.  Today is weights and a little cardio.  My goal is to lose 1.5 pounds by my birthday next Monday.  Cross fingers!

  • Hi, I recently lost my motivation. Not good, when wedding is 10 weeks away and I have 10-15 pounds to lose! I woke up today and did 30 day shred and I am going to do 45 min of cardio at the gym after work. I just need to get back on track, fast!
  • I ran a 5 miler yesterday in the blazing heat in the middle of the afternoon.  I could have waited until later on but it really didn't cool off until late in the evening.  I've decided to make the best of running in really hot heat to prep for the road race in August.  Last year I lucked out and it was 70 and overcast so it wasn't too bad.  Apparently the year before it was mid 90s, sunny and humid.  Wonderful.

    I did Week 5 Day 2 of Ease 2 5k...and those jokers aren't very funny...for 4 weeks, every day has been the day but noooooooooooooo...week 5 they shake up your plan....Week 5 day 1 was great..it was a breeze...Week 5 Day 2...yeah not so much...and then why the heck did I go look at Week 5 Day 3?!?!??! 

    If only I could eat a doughnut...guess 3 hardboiled eggs will have to do.

  • Morning. Last night I did weights for about 40 minutes after work. I totally cheated and skipped the last set of shoulder presses though. meh. This morning I did intervals on the treadmill for 45 minutes. Went 4.07 miles wooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    My goal is to try and get down at least another pound by next week; however, I didn't lose last week. I have to get a bridesmaid dress altered next week for my brother's "wedding" on Monday so I would like to get down another pound before that. I say "wedding" because well they are already married. It has caused huge drama in our family but that's for another day lol. I am starting to get super stressed out about the guest list. We are 2 people away from being at capacity for our reception hall (which is more people that we ever wanted to have) and my Dad keeps adding people to the guest list! He told me this morning he wants to add 10 more. Ugh! Ok sorry to get off topic there lol. Happy Tuesday!

  • I did not work out yesterday, I had a show to go to with some friends and then I had to do the grocery shopping. I didn't get home till 10pm. Wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't eaten leftover pizza for dinner, but I didn't OVER eat, I guess there's that...

    I plan to go to the gym after work today, thinking of mixing up my routine and doing weights first so that I get all the weightlifting done before I'm too tired.

  • Oh, and my goal this week is to do something active each day whether it be weight lifting or cardio at the gym, walking the dog, or biking.
  • I like the water theme!  I'm going to make that my goal too.  I could really drink more water throughout the day.  

    Last night I went to my very first hip hop class with two of my friends.  We had a blast!  It was a small class, only about 7 of us, and the instructor made it really fun.  It was very similar to zumba except the songs were really old-school and reminded me of dancing with my friends in high school/college.  

    This morning I took a spin class, and my legs are feeling all of the workouts I've done this week.  They are super sore!  But, I'm feeling tighter, stronger and leaner!

    Last night I did hill walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes and worked on abs and legs.

    I want to start incorporating running into the mix so I will start running for a couple minutes at a time.

    This week I would like to lose a pound so I will work out 4 days and eat healthier meals.

  • Happy Tuesday!

    After swimming in the morning, last night I went to yoga and mastered the crow inversion position. I never realized how much strength I've gained from all the HIIT exercises, but it was pretty awesome to balance on legs/knees on the backs on my triceps and hold the position for 30-40 seconds. YAY!!!

    Today I'll run for 30 minutes and do an upper body circuit.

    Goals for the week: Drink 4 liters of water a day; decrease sodium intake; be mindful of how I feel when I eat right; and workout every day this week except for Saturday (wedding day!!!).

  • Hi everyone!

    Today I did a Wii Fit exercise for 45min and I plan on going on the elliptical after dinner for 30min. Plus, I decided today to only use the stairs at work unless I have my med cart. I am a nurse at 4 floor assisted living facitily. I went up and down 24 flights of stairs today when I add it all up!  :)

    I weigh myself every Sunday and my goal is always to lose 2lbs. a week, but I guess sticking to the stairs is an additional one this week.

    Hi! I'm sort of new to the board.

    I did a Firm workout DVD last night (42 minutes of weights + aerobics). I took it easy since I'm getting back into it after 12 weeks of just walking. I don't feel that light bit of soreness that I'm used to after a good workout, so I might push myself a tiny bit more tonight. Since I'm really heavy (344, down from 356), I was worried about my heart rate going crazy, but it stayed in a comfortable range. I think I can do a bit more tonight.

    I don't have a weekly goal, but I do have a lot of "mini" goals. My current goal is to get to 314, the weight I was at when I met my BF and could still fit in the seats at Wrigley Field. :-P
