I am in need of a photographer for my wedding and reception in March of 2012.  I am on a budget and some of the prices I have seen are ridiculous.  Any suggestions?

I took the time to get most of the prices so they are VERY current.  *grumbles about people not reading the stickies and holds back the excess snark*

FWIW, photography is probably going to run kind of high, even the "budget-friendly" photographers.

This was something I definitely splurged on.  Although my photographer seems to include much more in the packages she offers than some of the other photogs to whom I spoke.

I second Six Fourteen!  Love them!

And if you find someone you really love, don't hesitate to call them.  That is advice a Knottie gave me when I was lamenting prices and I'm glad I took it.  The photographer I fell in love with was able to craft a package for us that we decided was doable and although we stretched the budget a little to afford her, it was worth it.  But if I had never called, I never would have gotten to use her.

I LOVE my photographer, and she's very budget friendly. Her packages are super flexible so you can cut out the things you don't need to keep your costs down. I'm getting married Monday so I'll be able to show off her work soon but look into Kaitlynn Marie Photography, she really sweet!

Like everyone has already said, we would need to know your budget to help you.  Some people think $1500 is ridiculous while others think $8000 is ridiculous.

I was so bummed when I found out that SixFourteen and McGowan were both booked on my date when I was on the photog hunt!! Check them out first, for sure. They are definitely not in a 'ridiculous' price range, IMHO.
I am using Brian Krause of Krauzian Image--he has a lot of specials going on right now which I am jealous of, and will give you a TK discount of $200.
