Best Location

Hey I need some help from anyone.  My fiance would like a location somewhere around water.  I want to incorporate his thoughts so I want to surprise him with the location.  What's the best, budget-friendly place around water?  (This will be a spring wedding just to keep in mind)

Alot of girls like the Filter building or Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake.  Knotties ewinkler, Donnaaries, leeann2001and Bettecrowe all got married there.  That location makes for a beautiful lakeside wedding.   Donna's pro pics are posted a little ways down the page.  Leann's are here (Leann and Caleb)

Also Paradise Cove at Lake Grapveine is really pretty too but I don't know how budget friendly it is.

    What Stephie said :)

To have a wedding on White Rock Lake, your choices are
    1) Winfrey Point (holds up to 150, I think), pretty budget friendly because it's owned by City of Dallas Parks and Rec, but hard to reserve (goes fast) because it's a good deal.
    2) Filter Building (holds up to 200), fairly budget friendly because they allow you bring in your own catering, alcohol, etc.  Rental fees are more than Winfrey Point but goes to a nonprofit organization.
    3) Arboretum (capacity varies depends on which facility you choose).  Pricey but really really gorgeous.

Paradise Cove in Grapevine is the other one I've heard about.  It's a package deal where you get their food (no choice of your own caterer).  There's also Sneaky Pete's Restaurant on Lake Lewisville if you're looking for something a little different.

I looked at Filter Building and it was really nice, in our top 2. Just the size was a little overwhelming for our small group (about 60). Big Thicket is nice for smaller groups, I think it holds 55? I heard it's the smaller version of Winfrey Point. You may also want to check out venues near Lake Grapevine. I haven't looked there but have seen pictures from the area. Good luck!
