Hi All - I don't post often, but I wanted to share a few reviews from my wedding a few weeks ago. Hope it's helpful for someone!
Dress - Circle Park Bridal, A+. I love Circle Park Bridal. I had an appointment with Andrea, which I would highly recommend (she's the owner). I also purchased my hair piece, veil, and a matching piece for my dress - they were a little overpriced, but since I saved so much on my dress, it was worth it. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this shop!
Alterations - Maybe Sew (Leighanna), A. Based on what I've seen, she's a little pricier than Becky Fowler, but she does good work, and wasn't overly expensive (I think - I don't get many things altered, so I don't have much to compare to). I paid around $300 for adding a bustle, cutting a sweetheart neckline, taking in the sides, and adding cups.
Tuxes - Men's Warehouse, ?. My MIL took care of this, so I don't have much to say, but the tuxes looked great and I didn't hear any complaints about working with them.
Bridesmaid Dresses - Davids Bridal, A. My bridesmaids were all over the country, but I can give a rating for the location at Preston/635. I went there with 2 of my bridesmaids and they were so helpful (and patient) as they tried on all the different styles. Since it was a Texas summer wedding, I chose the cotton/sateen blend shorter dress, and let the girls choose whichever dress they wanted in navy. I was so pleased with how it all turned out.
Ceremony Venue - St. Rita Catholic Church, A. We were married at the church that we attend by a priest that is an old friend of the family. I love St. Rita's, but I don't think they're as easy to work with as some of the other churches in the area for non-members.
Reception Venue - Hackberry Creek Country Club, B. Overall, they were easy enough to work with. I'm giving a B because they won't commit to a price when you sign the contract (you sign based on a minimum). They pitch it as 'we're so flexible, we don't make you choose a menu until closer to the wedding, etc'. They raised the price of our package by $5/person. It was in the contract that prices may change, so it's my own fault (which I completely recognize), I just wish I would've paid closer attention to that. Just something to keep in mind.
DJ - Presley Miller, It's Your Night Entertainment, A+. Presley is amazing. I booked him before he joined It's Your Night, so I got a great deal. I'm not sure how much he charges now that he's with them, but I have to say he's worth it. He acted as a coordinator, made sure we stayed on schedule, and was just so nice. I highly, highly recommend him.
Flowers - Sherwood Florist, A. They're located in Waco, and Donna's become a family friend (she started out doing my step-sister's wedding, then my step-brother's, and finally mine - she does a lot for my step-sister for business luncheons, etc). She's very easy to work with, and has prices that can't be beat.
Photography - Evan Godwin Photography, A (I think). Evan shot our engagement photos (link below), but was booked on our wedding day, so he had Shanna (Shanna Leigh Images, Fort Worth) shoot our wedding. I love both of them. Evan was great at getting us to relax. Since he's a student, his hours can be a bit strange (we shot our engagement pictures on a Monday evening), but I'm happy with his work, and his prices cannot be beat. Shanna sent me a few sneak peeks of the wedding (a day after the wedding!), and so far, I absolutely LOVE them. I cannot wait to see the others.
MUA - Mitzi Merritt, A. Mitzi does great work. She's now with TC Make-Up, so I think her prices have gone up a little, but she's amazing. I'm not sure what else to say, except that I loved my make-up and she was so easy to work with.
Hair - Raymond Stark Salon (Gaby), A. Gaby is my normal hair stylist, and I love her. She loves doing up-dos, so I knew I'd have her do my hair. I love the way my hair turned out, and she was so patient as I figured out exactly what I wanted.
Overall, the day was wonderful and I was really happy with all of my vendors. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions!
