Workout Accountability Monday

It is Monday, right?

Weekend wasn't as bad as I anticipated for eating. I did have a cookie at work yesterday because I had an event come up last minute and couldn't go get my homemade lunch. They give lunch boxes and I passed on the rest of it for the cookie because I was annoyed.

This morning we did bis and tris at bootcamp and I started week 3 of C25K.

I'm not dropping anymore pounds since I'm eating the appropriate amount of food now rather than too little, and I think I've adjusted to that's just the way it is. I feel like I'm still losing something though because of how I look and how my clothes are fitting. So there's that.

Hope everyone's having a decent Monday...

Re: Workout Accountability Monday

  • I didn't get up in time to get my cardio in again this morning. More sleep problems, but they're getting better. So it's top priority for this evening.

I'm really starting to think that evening workouts are a safer bet for me, even though I'm not through my self-promised month of mornings. I hadn't counted on insomnia and wanted to give morning workouts a fair shot, which I'm not yet doing.

Eating has been better, and I managed to pack a lunch for work today. That almost never happens and I'm going to work really hard on doing it this year. Last year I could go home every day, but now I have lunch duty at least 3 days a week. There is no cafeteria here, but they order in pizza one day a week and subs another.

I also added flax to my oatmeal this morning. I've tried chia, but had disastrous results and had to abandon it. I used to use flax in my muffins, smoothies and homemade burgerswith great results, so i'm going back to it.

Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

  • Morning ladies!

Got up and ran this morning which was more difficult than usual because I was REALLY SORE from a bootcamp I started on Saturday. @jennylee183 getting up in the morning is extrememly hard but I promise once you pull yourself out of bed and get your shoes you will be good to go. My trick is to get my clothes, shoes, ipod, whatever I need ready and set them in a pile on my nightstand so they are the first thing I see when they alarm goes off. Also if you are feeling especially tired workout will actually wake you up and energize you for the day. I wish I could workout in the evening that would be the ideal situation but there is no time. Either way morning or evenings, good luck with your workout.

Ate pizza this weekend!! UHG!! Dang my FI and pizza and football on Sundays!

    @zeroorchestra, I love C25K, that apps rocks!

  • Good morning everyone!

Friday I didn't get too much activity in but my eating was also on track.

Saturday I woke up early and actually made it to the body pump class at the gym. I like that it really felt like I'd pushed myself by the end of the class, even though I wasn't using heavy weights. I did 33 minutes on the ellpitical after teh hour long class and then went to a park to play some disk golf with DH and a friend. Altogether I got 15,000 steps in for the day...which was so needed because I ate thai food and had wine with friends later that night.

Yesterday I was pretty much a bum, but DH and I did a crap-ton of shopping. It was the newly wed event at Bed, Bath and Beyond so we went crazy and got all the stuff we still needed for our apartment - we then proceeded to spend the rest of the night putting together all the stuff we bought (the crowning jewel being a kitchen cart that we're hoping will finally organize all our junk in the kitchen)

Today I started a new role at work, so I'm just learning the ropes and getting the hang of it...I'm really not sure I'm going to like it very much - my boss assures me it's temporary and that I can go back to what I was doing before after the holiday rush.

  • Happy Monday!

I was able to go to the gym on Saturday and I lifted and did an ab workout.  I haven't had any time for cardio yet so that's a real bummer.  My eating habits have become slightly worse.  Half the time FI and I are so busy running errands that we get home late and just have some chips and salsa or grab subs or something while we are out.  I would LOVE to be able to go for a run or do some sort of cardio before Saturday.  If it doesn't happen, oh well.

On the upside I think the cyst removal is promising because I went out for drinks with FSILs and there wasn't a stomach ache to be had.  I'm hoping this trend continues :)
  • I am back and forth as to whether or not I weigh everyday but I worke up this morning as my scale told me I lost. yippee!! (I have the type of scale that shows  - for loss + for gain or ? for stable and I am pretty much always in the stable category even if i lose a little bit or my son using my setting lol) so after that I was very motivated to work out. I went and started week 6 of C25K-I started at week 4 and have only gone twice in the past 2 weeks :(  but I did great at day 1 week 6-guess i am in better shape than i thought woo-hoo!

Hi All!!! I'm back from vacation (this is jpines, i change my username) and i'm ready to get back into the workout routine. I have my first appt EVER to try on dresses this thursday so i think i'm just not going to eat all week LOL also, last thursday was my one year to go mark so the clock is ticking!! gotta get moving!!
  • Hi everyone,

So I'm back from my last in a string of vacation and out-of-town trips.  And I officially started my new job today, so that's exciting!

unfortunately with all the traveling my eating hasn't been the greatest, and I feel pretty awful.  Just generally very bloated and slow, versus how I feel energized when I'm eating healthy.  Tonight I'm going grocery shopping so that the house will have plenty of healthy options.

I did have one good accomplishment though.  On friday I ran just a shade under 7 miles (at 9:40 mile pace), which is my longer ever run.  I haven't told anyone yet, but I'm secretly hoping to train for a half marathon in the spring.  I just think it would be a great accomplishment.  We'll see, but I'm optimistic.

I'm hoping to get back into running tonight and have a healthy dinner.  At least that would be a step in the right direction!

    Happy Monday to all!

The pile of clothes is there, the ipod is next to the sneakers and elliptical. I've never been a morning person, but had promised myself that I'd try a month of mornings once the school year started - enough to make it a habit. But I've been battling insomnia for the better part of a month, and have been taking sleep whenever it comes. I'm not ready to give up yet though, tomorrow is another day.

Still on for this evening though. Even my new blister won't stop me!

  • Happy Monday!

I feel ok after this weekend. My FI had familiy down so we ate really bad Sat afternoon and Sun morning. I tried to make sure I ate salad on saturda but still had way to much BBQ food. I kept my breakfast healthy with yogurt and then had chicken and brocoli for lunch. I also made it to the gym and got to do a full hour or cardio since I wasn't rushed.

Sunday no go at the gym (we slept way later than normal) and breakfast was horrible! I actually feel a little proud for not completely pigging out. I had a bagel w lite cc, half a cinnamon bun and a quarter waffle with some homefries. Sounds huge but half of what I normally would eat. We then had a nice veggie stir fry for dinner with a few pieces of chicken.

Today I slept through my alarm so no gym (was up until 2am w/ itchy bug bites) but my eating has been good so far I think. Nutrigrain bar for breakfast, salad and leftover stir fry for lunch and walnuts and pirate's booty for a snack! I'm cutting back at work and I'm really happy. Still need to eliminate some snacking but getting there. Disappointed with scale and measurements though. Scale says I gained 4 lbs and measurements are the same or only down 1/2 and inch. No gain with measurements though and I feel better.
  • Hey hey! I tell you what I have had a bad case of the Mondays today but I finally made it to the gym and ran on the elliptical for 45 mins. And I had a personal best milage of 5.22 miles! :D

Eating has been pretty good. I think that my tracker on sparkpeople is a bit messed up because I don't think I"m supposed to be eating 2300 calories. haha That sounds like something my fiance should be eating!

Oh well, I'll figure it out tomorrow!

  • Hellooooo! I got up for Day One of Bridalicious Boot Camp - it was great, until I reached the end for jump squats. Holy burn Batman!!! I didn't even think I was going to be able to walk down the steps at work with my spaghetti legs but I managed. Thank goodness I get a day of rest in between workouts - tomorrow I can just walk the dog at a brisk pace!
