We had a Persian wedding and several are vendors are Persian as well, but I am going to review them all.
Photography - Brian Krause - Krauzian Image A+
We worked with Brian starting with our engagemet pictures and were really impressed by the quality of his work and his pricing. He did a great job and was very flexible with locations and time frames ( unlimited time and locations). I have gone a few sneak peeks at the wedding pics, and they are great.
Videography - Mohammad Dezfuli prelim grade B
I can't give him a final grade yet because we haven't seen our final product yet but he did my BIL's wedding and some other family members used him, and his end product is good, but he did add in last minute costs on stuff he promised he would do a part of package, he complained about going outside for a few min of outdoor video, and some guests described him as being lazy in his shooting. He is the only Persian videographer in Dallas so he doesn't have any competition so I guess he feels he can do whatever.
Venue - Addison Event Center A++++++++++++
Addison Event Center is more a budget venue but we picked it soley because they allowed outside catering ( we wanted Persian food), allowed BYOB ( which we wanted bc only half of our guests drink and we didn't want to have to pay person for 120 who didn't drink), and they also met our capacity requirements of around 250 expected guests. Henry and Suzan went way way way beyond our expectations and their staff was fantastic in meeting all of our needs. I can't say enough good things about them. When you first go in the venue, it looks a little blah but when it's all done up and decorated and the lights are on, it's looks great. It was also a special place for us, bc my sister got married there on the same exact day 12 yrs ago.
Makeup Artist - Christie Lee A++
I went to heck and back trying to find a MUA, and at first was a little worried about Christie based on her response time, and having to do a reschedule for my trial, but on my wedding day, she did a great job with my airbrush makeup and hair (with extensions). My makeup lasted the whole night and the hair lasted pretty well too,... the curl in my extensions fell towards the end of the night but it was under my veil which I decided to keep on during the whole night, so it wasn't that big of a deal.
Caterer - Kasra Persian Restaurant A+++++++++
They did a great job with delivery and quality and price. We had plenty of left overs and they everyone raved about the taste and quality of the food.
DJ - Keyvan Safa - A+++++++++++++
He did a great job in coordinating all the night's events and followed our time line to a T which thankfully happened to also be flowing almost exactly as scheduled anyway. Keyvan played all of the songs like we had asked and kept the dance floor packed the whole night.
Cakes/ Persian Bakery - Natalie - B-
They did a fantastic job with DH's groom cake but he messed up the color of the fondant on my cake , some places were dark brown and some light brown. My cake didn't look right at all, but the taste was great.
Florist - Allen Market Street - A++
Patty was great to work with, in terms of staying with in budget and working hard to get exactly the right color of flowers that I wanted by ordering them in advance for me to preview. I even made additions up to the last minute and she was able to accomodate all of my requests.
Attire:
My dress - Lulu's A
Bridal shops seem to be full of snooty sales people that got out of the wrong side of the bed, but over all , I had a good experience at Lulu's and their sales people and they got my dress to me on time as promised.
Alterations - Lulu's B+
I almost ended up having a panic attack bc my dress was in pieces and no where being ready as promised 1.5 weeks before the wedding, but ultimately, everything turned out right and my dressed looked great.
Veil - Stanely Korshak A+++
I got a sample sale veil valued at $600 with crystals on it for $50 and was very happy with it.
Fascinator and jewelry - Circle Park Bridal A+
The fascinator was a splurge at $100 but the jewelry was very reasonably priced.
Invitation - Exclusively Weddings - A++
We made some changes to our order over the phone and they were very accomodating and they run specials all the time, so we got a great deal.
Save the Dates - Magnet Street - A++++
This was the best $150 I spent on the wedding. The magnets looked great and everyone loved them.
Stage Rental - Ducky Bob's A++
We got our stage from them and they rent out everything under the sun. They coordinated the delivery and setup with our venue and it was something we didn't have to think twice about after booking our rental with them
Night of Hotel - Lincoln Centre Hilton - A++++++++++
I also got ready at this hotel as did DH, and they were very accomodating to bring all kinds of stuff that I requested to our suite, including extra mirrors, room partitions, scissors, extension cords, you name it.
Last by not least, DH just asked me what I am typing and I told him, and he asked if I do a guest review so I can unload the "friend" of mine that ruined the wedding..
