Workout Accountability: Wednesday

I'm just going to complain this morning. The weather is still crap, and our refrigerator broke last night. Awesome. Can't wait to throw out tons of groceries later.

I chickened out on my run last night due to rain, but I did do a kickboxing workout instead. Tonight I'm lfiting and doing the elliptical. possibly increasing weights.

Hope everyone else is having a better day than me so far!

Re: Workout Accountability: Wednesday

  • Ugh, sorry about the fridge june!  It's still raining here, but at least that washed away a ton of pollen.

Still no workout for me last night, due to major drama - my best friend got engaged to a guy none of us can stand, so there were major phone call discussions and migranes to be had all night.

But, clean-er eating started this morning, so yay!

    Good morning ladies!

I chickened out of running too yesterday since it was kind of raining, I went to the gym and did 70 minutes on the elliptical and successfully resisted pizza for dinner! I did have ice cream which wasn't in my plan, but it was worth it.

Today I am going to run 4 or 5 miles. I'm at the point of my training schedule where it is really stepping up the mileage- I think I can handle it but I am tired this morning so I am feeling overwhelmed! I know I am ready for the 15K race in July since I just ran 9 last weekend. I am anticipating getting thrown off schedule a bit around the wedding and honeymoon so I want to be over prepared. I mentioned in the accountability thread a few days ago that I am also wanting to keep my mileage up so in case I get preg soon I won't have to be increasing my activity, only maintaining.

  • Good morning!  Sorry about the fridge Jude...that's always a bummer.  My guestbook came in from Shutterfly yesterday so I went to the post office to pick it up rather than going to the gym.  And then, of course, when I got home, I didn't feel like working out.  I really need to get my motivation back.  We are doing our engagement pics next week, so maybe that can be my short term goal.

  • Jude, that sucks.  Also, this weather sucks.  I just want to see a little bit of sun and a little less mist/rain.

Last night I did an arm and abs workout.  It was nice to feel like I've been accomplishing something in the workout area since the belly issues have subsided for now :)
  • Sorry about your fridge, Jude! This weather totally does not feel like May AT ALL. I would like some sun, please!

I did 1.5 miles on the treadmill tonight. I am planning on 3 tonight. I put my marathon training schedule on the fridge and am crossing off each of the runs I complete. I don't like an incomplete to-do list, so hopefully this will help me stay on track!

Nice work & have a great day everyone!

p.s. lbarr, glad to hear your stomach is feeling better, but go to the doctor!!! Smile

  • Oh Jude that STINKS!  And I'm sure you are really looking forward to spending $ on a new fridge, right?!?

Last night I hit zumba class with one of my friends, and this morning I lifted back & hamstrings.  The weather is really gross here too.  I had my Biggest Loser weigh-in today at work and I only lost .2 pounds this week, which is an all-time low for me, but given that I overindulged on my b-day weekend, I am not beating myself up about it.  I'll just work extra hard this week.
  • Oh no Jude! I am so sorry about your fridge :(

Lobsters - omg! I hope it works out for your friend :( Thats a tough situation to be in when everyone can see the guy is bad news.

Last night I did some lifting, shoulders, back and abs. This morning I did a 45 minute cardio work out, made it almost 4.25 miles on the treadmill! 4.22 to be exact. I did a quick arm work out too after my cardio, biceps and triceps. I know you're supposed to lift first but I wasn't going to even do the arm work out because I was running late but then I said screw it and did it anyways lol.

I have a work dinner and a work lunch this week and FI wants to go out to a nice place on Friday night to celebrate getting his quaterly bonus. I hope my diet doesn't completey go to hell this week!!!

  • Hi All! Its crappy out here today too, so I worked out at my condo gym instead of going to my usual gym. I did 35 minutes on the bike, then abs and weights. This morning I am indulging in a homemade smoothie, made of non fat yogurt, frozen fruit (melon, cantalope, pinapple, mango, banana) skim milk and 1 packet of splenda. Slurping away at my desk as we speak!!! Lunch is salad and homemade veggie soup, dinner will be chicken and veggies. Hope everyone has a good hump day!

  • Got to the gym last night, but I should have eaten a snack between work and the gym because I had ZERO energy at the gym. I got a half hour on the elliptical and 15 minutes of weightlifting. I tweaked my shoulder while I was lifting, so of course now my neck/shoulder hurts and when I turn my neck there's pain. I hope it goes away soon.

I'm hoping to get some light cardio in tonight, but it looks like I might be stuck at work late because they've loaded me up on projects and I need to stay on top of my deadlines.

  • Everyone's been working really hard this week it seems!

Reggies: We rent, so the fridge isn't ours to fix/replace (thank God, because that is seriously not something we could swing right now). But if the maintenance people haven't come today like they said they would, I'm going to lose it. I really don't want to resort to takeout the rest of the week.

maribeth: I'm so impressed at your mileage! I remember when you used to post about how you didn't think you could run that far!

Jude: Ugh! I had the same thing happen to me at an old apartment I used to live at. Our maintenance person didn't come for a WEEK. That's right, a week. It was dreadful. I borrowed a little cube fridge from a friend and put the essentials like milk, yogurt, meat in there, and then I sacrificed my freezer food for my refridgerator food. I figured as soon as the freezer things start thawing they are going to be unable to be refrozen, so they might as well keep my fridge cold for now. It kept my fridge cold for a day and a half approximately - and as it turned out, I had to end up clearing out the freezer anyway because it was the fan in the freezer part that had to be replaced. Good luck to you, I feel your pain.

I only did the tiniest smidgen of weight lifting yesterday while watching TV... doesn't really count as workout. Today I gotta get my work out in this morning before I head to get eyelash extensions put on (scarrrrrrry but  hope it looks awesome!) and you're not allowed to sweat, shower, or steam for 24 hours after. I will go on the treadmill and do REAL weight lifting in about 30 minutes, time for the breaky to settle.

    Good work everyone!

  • Jude, I'm sorry about your fridge.  You should see if your landlord will reimburse you for groceries - I once lived in a basement apartment that flooded, and I lost a few area rugs and towels in the ensuing mess, and when I mentioned to the landlord that some of my stuff had been ruined they knocked the cost of replacing what I lost off of my rent for the next month, so that was pretty cool of them.

I am still sticking with the 10 Minute Trainer program, although reading about everyone's mileage is kind of making me wish I was still running!  I'm thinking I'll give myself 2-3 weeks to adjust to my current workouts before trying to add running in, though.

  • Good Afternoon!
Yesterday I went to my strength and tone class, i upped my weight last night, I've been attending this class since October and felt it was time.

Tonight is Interval Training and then Turbo Kick!
  • Steph: Thanks! If they haven't fixed it by the end of today, FI and I will definitely be suggesting they reimburse us for groceries.  Don't know if that will go over (they aren't the greatest management company, I cannot wait to move...) but it doesn't hurt to speak up about it.

  • Awww Jude, sorry about the fridge mishap. That's never fun. Hopefully they do come and fix it today.

Lobsters: hopefully it all works out with your friend... that's the most difficult part of it all to see someone you care about make a decision you know isn't the best and yet they don't see it... but in the end, it's their decision. All you can do is be there for her when she needs you.

I'm about to go for a run now! I've been wanting to run outside for a while now and will do some interval training... let's see how much ground I cover in 45 minutes. :-)

Happy Wednesday! Mid-way through the week!!
