Workout Accountability: Tuesday

Morning all!

Last night I lifted and did the elliptical.  I was killing it on the elliptical, so I think next time I need to up the resistance level to make it harder.

The weather is pretty gross today, but as long as it's not downpouring I'll be running a 5K later.  Sometimes I like when it's cooler and cloudy because it means less people/walkers/bikers on the path.

How did everyone else do yesterday?

Re: Workout Accountability: Tuesday

  • The weather is terrible here, too, but at least it's washing away some of the pollen!

I slept like it was my job last night, so finally feel like I might have enough energy for a workout today.  At the very least I'll do a bit of yoga.  We also got the rest of the junk food out of the house yesterday, so it's officially back to healthy eating-wohoo!

  • Last night I had no belly issues thank goodness!  I ran a little over 4 miles and I felt pretty awesome.  I didn't time myself but I was definitely running just around race pace and I felt like I had a lot of energy.  Maybe those shakes aren't so bad after all ;)
  • Hi ladies.  I don't post on GIS much, but I think this whole "daily accountability" thing might be good for me - I have been losing and gaining the same five pounds for about 3 months.  Since my wedding is now, according to TK, 109 days away, I figure should probably get a move on that whole "lose 15 pounds" thing.  I started Tony Horton's 10-Minute Trainer program yesterday, and it's kicking my butt a little.  Okay, a lot.  Actually, I kind of hate Tony right now.  But tomorrow is the program's "rest" day (I only have to do the Yoga video, nothing else), so maybe I'll hate him a little less by Thursday?

Hi All! Yesterday was an off day but I did mow the lawn so that was a good 40 minutes of cardio. Our lawn mower is like 100lbs and our yard is sloped so I struggled. Bleh!

Today I am on schedule to do 3x mile speed work. I will probably skip that though and run 4 miles or if the weather continues to be craptastic I will go to the gym to do the elliptical. I have to go to campus anyway to return some text books so it might be a good day for the gym. The semester is OVER and now I can focus on day dreaming about my wedding!! Oh and work- stupid work is always getting in the way of my day dreaming!
  • Morning Girls!  Welcome Steph!

Hit spin class this morning.  Lots of hills!  I love my Tuesday spin class.

I made my super yummy & healthy veggie soup last night, as well as egg muffins, so I feel like I have lots of healthy meal options for the week.

Have a good day, and Go Flyers!

    Morning all!

I got 75 minutes of cardio in on my bike last night, and I did a little bit of free weights. It felt so good to get exercise after a weekend of none! Myfitnesspal also lowered my calories to adjust for weight loss so I've been having trouble coming in below my calorie goal - but I managed to yesterday!

Tonight is the gym and I am bound and determined to get some good weightlifting in the mix.

  • Good morning!

Last night, after my eye doc appointment, I did No More Trouble Zones while wearing contacts for the first time ever! Never fails, I am always dripping sweat by the end of that workout. I am able to do more reps, though, so I do feel as if I'm getting stronger. Not having to wear glasses while working out was amazing.

The drive into work this morning was crappy due to the torrential rains, but hopefully it goes away soon

I am re-starting my "Novice Supreme" Marathon training tonight as last week was a bust. I am putting in 1.5 miles.

lbarr, glad to hear your stomach is doing a little better. I had awful stomach problems in college--acid reflux so bad I could barely eat. I had an endoscopy and it turns out that I had a hiatal hernia, a weak stomach valve that wouldn't close properly, and a twisted intestine. It took a while to feel better, but the doc visit really helped me out. Have you gone?

Have a great day everyone. Go Flyers is right, reggies! :-)

  • Good morning, good morning!!

Yesterday was a pretty good day.  It started off poorly, where I decided I needed an Oreo milkshake at Smashburger.  But I ended the day with 90 minutes on the elliptical so I could burn off the milkshake.  At least I ended the day only 150 calories over my goal.  Whew!

  • Lizzie, I haven't gone and I probably should.  Switching up my diet sometimes helps so I've been putting it off.  Last time I went they just said "stay away from dairy" and left it at that.  Ok.... lol.  A CW of mine has celiacs and IBS and all of that lovely stuff and if I DO decide to go back to a doctor I'd probably want a referral to hers.

Morning! I needed sleep this morning since I got up at 6am Saturday, 5am Sunday, and 5am again yesterday to work out. So I plan on doing some lifting when I get home tonight. Happy May Day!

  • Lbarr, you should definitely consult a specialist - a coworker of mine had gastro issues for years, that her GP was kind of half-assedly treating, and she finally broke down and saw a gastroenterologist a few months ago.  He fiddled around with her diet/medication regimen, and she's been symptom free for a while now.

  • Steph: Welcome, this thread is generally full of awesome/inspiring people!

kpdorr: Mowing the lawn is absolutely a workout!

entropic: Did MFP automatically lower it for you? Mine is still the same from when I started even though I've lost a significant amount.

  • heyjude - If you go thru and under "my home" --> "goals" then select "change goals" it will update stuff for you. You don't have to change any of your numbers, just resubmit it and it will recalculate your calorie goal to continue to meet the lbs lost you're looking to attain per week.

I discovered that by accident, but it does make sense that the more weight you lose the lower your calorie goal would get (unless you're at 1200)

It seems like every 10 lbs I lose it lowers it another 60-100 calories. I was at 1640, now I'm at 1580.

<div>t worked, thanks entropic! I was confused because every time I entered in a new weight it would ask if I wanted to update my fitness goals, I would always click "yes" but nothing changed. Weird. You would think they would make that more obvious. </div>

  • Hi Ladies! So glad to have stumbled upon this thread. I've been loosing weight steadily with increased exercise and following the weight watchers program. This is my second time on the program. The first time I lost 33lbs and felt great, but I fell off track and gained 20 back : ( I'm 1 lb away from my "goal" weight, but my fiance and I don't have a wedding date set and I am about to start a hectic new job, so I am afraid that I will get caught up and gain again : /

Reading this thread just gave me a feeling of inspiration! I am usually bad about keeping track of things like this, but i will do my best to keep up on this thread!

Today I did 15 mins on the stair climber, 35 mins alternating between running and run-walking on the treadmill, and lifted weights for 10 mins.
  • Happy Tuesday!

So I started a new job today (whoo!!!) and was super excited for a couple of reasons: 1) my commute was only 20 minutes compared to where I used to work where I was in traffic for 1.5 hours; 2) Panera is located on the corner (healthy to-go options if needed...); and LA Fitness is right across the street!!!!!! I have a one-club membership, but after going to the gym right after work I may just bump up to an all-club. Now I really have no excuse right?

That said, I made it to the gym after work today and ran for 30 minutes and did a circuit called "The Pyramid of Life":

    100 walking lunges
    75 jumping jacks
    50 burpees
    25 tricep dips
    50 pushups
    75 situps
    100 air squats
    2 minute plank

I did realize that I didn't pack enough food and had to hit up the nutrition center in the gym, which had one of those Pure Organic Fruit and Nut Bar... I got the Chocolate Brownie. That hit the spot until I got home.

I'm loving that the gym is right across the street! Hope you all had a great day!

    Cheers.
