New to this board!

Hi All! I was posting about workout plans on the Sept 2013 board and thought I might get better feedback here. Looks like you guys do "accountability" which is awesome! I need people to make me feel a little guilty when i don't do what i'm supposed to! I just started Tony Horton's 10 Minute Trainer last night and i can barely walk today...but i love it! I'm looking to lose 30lbs before my wedding next year on 9/6/13 in New Rochelle, NY. I also started used the My Fitness Pal app which I'm really enjoying! What are you all doing to lose weight??

  • Welcome and congrats! This is a great board for advice and support on weight loss and fitness. Definitely start posting in accountability. It keeps me going for sure and everyone is so supportive.

    For me, I also use myfitnesspal and try to eat as clean as possible. As far as working out I run, cycle, and weight train. I try to get work outs in 5-6 times a week.

  • I'm doing weight watchers because it really helps me stay accountable when I know someone else has a record of what I have been losing or gaining.  It's basically the same concept of my fitness pal but instead of calories everything has points.  It really helps me because on weight watchers fruits and most veggies are free.  It encourages me to eat those instead of other things I like better that are the same amount of calories.  I am also doing the couch to 5K app for fitness.

    This is my first week on this board and I love it.  The girls are really friendly, always have encouragement or advice and its nice to hve an additional source for accountability!  One of my fave thing is that even when a person is honest and says that they went over their calorie limit or they decided not to exercise (which will happen), the girls are great and just say get back on it!  Always a big help!

    I am on a 1200 cal diet and am just starting to work out.  I actually own the tony horton 10 min workout but it never got out of the case (one of my epic fails in the exercising world lol last jan).  I am glad you like it! Maybe I will have to pull it out one of these days!  I just joined a gym with some friends and am going to start out by going 3xwk either to a class or on my own. 
  • That sounds like a great plan!! And yes everyone has been super friendly so far. I even have my first "friend" on myfitnesspal app from this board! 10 minute trainer is awesome but I can't walk today! Lol
  • Welcome!  I can't say enough great things about the ladies on this board, so supportive, I'm always looking forward to reading and posting on here.  

    I've been losing weight for almost 5 years, down 65 pounds ... slow and steady right?  I work out 5-6x a week and try to stay under 1600 calories.  I've been using this program called Apex with a lady at my gym, it helps me so much.  She can monitor my food, and give me feedback when I'm not eating the right things.  It helps me so much that one person, who is connected to me, is weighing me in.  I never want to disappoint her ... Laughing

  • Welcome from another newbie! I'm standing up in a wedding in October and am looking to lose 20 lbs to fit into the bridesmaid dress. I walk nearly every day and 3 times a week I jog/walk. I've also been tracking my diet with Weight Watchers.
    I've been through the whole weightloss thing before and actually lost 90 lbs in about 1 year and a half but i've slowly gained half of it back. Though I'm disappointed in myself, I'm going to use this opportunity to reclaim my health - and look damn good in that bridesmaid dress Smile
  • Wow you guys are super inspriring!! Seems like everyone is losing lots of weight! I'm hoping I can get on that bandwagon!!!
