Getting in Shape

Getting in shape ideas

Hey there! I'm looking for ideas for getting in shape and getting healthier all around. Recently engaged, and I have plenty of time to get into shape. Started eating healthier, eating less, and trying to do yoga and or pilaties at least twice a week. I don't drive so does anyone have any other ideas for getting in shape or just in general being healthier?
Thanks!

  • I think for sure doing the 30 day shred video is amazing!!  Also walking can do wonders.

    hey there,<div>
</div><div>I don't own a car but living in a city I walk a lot more. If you like yoga and pilates stick to it. I don't know what kind of yoga you do but love vinyasa style. It's much more intense and make you really sweat. </div><div>
</div><div>Lol I can't afford to go to a studio for yoga or pilates because they're about $20 per class where as I can go to the gym for 45 a month and I can go whenever I want. </div><div>
</div><div>In terms of your eating try to incorporate healthy food slowly especially fibrous ones. Start watching your calorie intake. </div>
  • I also love the 30 day shred...or really anything by jillian micheals its things that you can start by doing even if your not really in shape and you'll just get faster!
  • One option is p90x, a video-based program that you can order online. They have a nutrition program that goes along to make sure you're getting the nutrients needed for the workouts. Its a little pricey (I think $120-130 for the program), but if you stick with it you can really change the way you look. You can also do the videos at your own pace and work up to what they are doing.

  • I can't drive either so I do a lot of walking when I need to go somewhere. I think the yoga dvd I use is the vnyasa. The pilates dvd my fiance brought over is intermediate so it's intense/good workout. Would one of those big workout balls be good do you think? Thanks for the adivce. When it's warmer out (like in spring to early fall) I like to run....when it's cold I don't like running as much bc it hurts to breathe and my muscles hurt way more.
