Sports bras?

I just started back running again in the past couple weeks which I am very excited about (had a bulged disk in my neck), but I am having a big issue finding some new sports bras to cut down on the bounce! I am a 34DDD or 36DD and can't seem to find anything with great support, any suggestions??

Re: Sports bras?

  • I am a 34DD and I bought a bunch of sports bras from Champion. They seem to have really good support.  I actually got them pretty cheap at Marshalls. Some of my friends who have this same "ailment" sometimes where 2 sports bras at a time. I have never found this necessary but they say it helps. Dickk's (the knot wont accept this word!) sporting goods  has a lot of really nice sports bras, but on the more expensive side.

  • Thanks! I don't mind paying more for one as long as it's worth it!

  • Champion wears out super fast for me since they are usually a very basic cotton blend.
I've been a 32DD most of my life (just recently shrunk to a 30/32D! Woot!) and The only two bras that have EVER made me feel super locked in place are a sports bra from VS that is no longer made (shame.. their new stuff just doesn't complare in my opinion) and the TaTa Tamer from Lululemon.

Also, the nice thing about this bra is that you can criss cross the back for added support, and it clips in the back so there isn't that mess of getting stuck after a sweaty workout when you're trying to take the bra off over your head lol.
I love this bra and it's the only thing I will every buy again.
  • Moving comfort makes good sports bras. I also really like the ones from nike. I'm due for new ones :/

    This!
All my more ample friends swear by the ta ta tamer.  I am in the market for a new sports bra but at only 36C-34D bust I dont need anything fancy- the cotton fruit ofthe loom guys I currently own just are not doing the job.

  • AWESOME! Thank you so much, never heard of that one but I am definately willing to try it! I definately agree about VS going down the drain in quality lately!
  • I second moving comfort.  You can get them pretty cheap off amazon and they work well. I prefer sports bras with a back clasp so I don't have to fight to get them over my chest.

  • haha I hate fighting to get them on and off!
  • I second the Lululemon!
Also the new Armour Bras from Under Armour- they're made for larger "girls" and they have sufficent padding! I'm a 34DD

  • I'm a 38DD, so lulu doesn't fit me (their highest size I can seem to find is 38D).. so I use Champion brand. Pretty basic, not expensive. I am usually fine wearing one bra, and I run. If I really want to feel "locked and loaded" I wear two!

They came in a pack of two for like 15 bucks... definitely have gotten my money's worth out of them. I've been wearing them each at least twice a week for the last 6 months, and they're still fine. I bought size L/G not XL.. XL I think is what the size chart recommended, but I wanted it to be tight. But it's not uncomfortably tight, just secure!

Man do I wish I had the problems you girls have, lol. However, I have always loved my Underarmor sports bras. My friend is graced with a nice chest and agrees.
  • I also vote Moving Comfort. I get mine from Zappos.com.
  • I "double bag it". lol. I wear a more comforatble regular bra with no padding, then a sports bra over top that.  Also try on a sports bra that may be too small for you. They seem to pack the girls in there a little more. I've had good luck with that now that I've gotten smaller.
  • Definatey UnderArmour!  They even have a style with a zip front so you don't have to struggle getting it on and off.  I was a bit hesitant at first that the zipper would slide down but after all the washes and workouts I've had no problems at all!  Love them and totally worth a bit of extra money. I believe they come in up to DD

  • I just ordered the ta ta tamer so I'll be putting it to the test! I've tried the under armour one that zips and to be small enough around that I won't fall out the bottom I couldn't zip it, haha so there that is! I'll probably try some others too. Thanks girls!
  • I know i'm a little late to this post but I really like the Nike Compression sports bras, they really hold things in place. Our Academy recently marked them down to about $20 so you may still be able to get them on sale.
