Workout Accountability: Monday

Morning, Ladies!  How was everyone's weekend?

We're into week four, and the core synergistics kicked my butt yesterday.  Today is kempo, and next Saturday will start week five/phase two.  They say most women really see the results after phase two, so I can't wait to get there.

Eating wasn't on track because of a birthday party, but I didn't blow it completely out of proportion, so only have a little to work off.  We have some healthy crockpot dishes defrosting, so it should be easy to get right back on track.  I'm excited because I picked a new oatmeal cookie recipe for FI, which I didn't realize until mid-baking had very little flour and only had one egg, so I can have a tasty dessert and stay within my calories this week, too!

Happy Monday!

Anniversary

Re: Workout Accountability: Monday

  • I did okay food wise this weekend.  I'm hypoglycemic and my blood sugar was acting weird all weekend so I had to eat more.  I at least did it smart, with Luna Fiber bars or cocoa roast almond 100 calorie packs instead of my first instincts, sweets.  FI and I did indulge in sharing a slice of burnt almond torte Friday.

Friday I walked three miles downtown and back (three miles each way) - and that didn't include the walking around the city I did.  Saturday FI and I were out all day window shopping for appliances/furniture for our new house.  Yesterday we did the same and also started packing things and organizing.  If closing goes as planned, we should be moving in in August!

Today is another super humid day here.  I'm going grocery shopping but exercise looks bleak aside from packing and shopping!

  • I did mostly OK this weekend. I went about 100 calories over on Friday due to an event I was at. I saved 400 calories extra for the event, but wine and brie took care of them quickly. I realized that pre-diet I would have probably consumed about twice as much brie and bread though, so it really made me realize how fast those party calories can add up.

Saturday I was about 50 calories over, which I don't think is too bad considering we were eating on the go all day. I also burned over 700 calories doing yard work at our investment property. My thighs are absolutely killing me now as a result.

Sunday, I did make it in under my limit despite eating on the go all day again, with the help of an additional couple of hours of cleaning and yardwork.

Hopefully today will be alot more of a normal schedule and easier to stay on track. I started with my normal cereal and yogurt, packed a salad for lunch, several healthy snack options for the week, and I'll be eating dinner at my Mom's. She is making a weight watchers recipe, so I'm looking forward to that.

  • I actually did pretty well eating this weekend.  I have been around 1400 calories, which I don't think is too shabby.  And I did weights and I danced with the Muppet movie yesterday.  Haha!  And I'm in the process of moving, so that counted for me on Saturday.

  • Well between calling hours/funeral, a baby shower, and 2 father's day celebrations over the past 4 days I ate like complete crap. Totally disappointed in myself. Like I had no will power when it came to desserts! What is wrong with me!

I did get some work outs in though despite the fact that I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off since Thursday. Yesterday for the first time in my entire life I ran 3 miles without having to stop or take a walking break. I seriously almost burst into tears in the middle of the gym lol. Running has been a real struggle for me and that just made me feel really accomplished.

    Nice job everyone!!

  • Well I thought the emotional roller coaster would end with finals giving me 2 weeks of breathing room. I was wrong. I went to add oil to my jeep with 120k miles and found the coolant discoloring again when warm. I knew this meant a one way leak in a head gasket and a 1500 repair in the next 12 months, plus I already had about 1000 in repairs needed for inspection. This broke my heart six ways till sunday, and I had to go look at new cars Friday. I've had my jeep for 10 years and so many memories associated with her. We are paying for a wedding, and hoping to buy a house right behind that so more unexpected expensive repairs just werent an option no matter how much I love my car. I traded her in for 2011 jeep liberty with 6300 miles. It broke my heart to do it but Fiance, and my family are right this is not the time for us to keep an aging car with unexpected repairs that costs hundreds at a time even if she's running ok.

So needless to say this weekend I wasnt so hot with exercise or eating. I dont eat when I get upset. I ran yesturday but I only ate 2 times saturday I typically eat 4-6 times a day. I only ate 3 times sunday, and 3 times friday.

I'm back on the horse again though for my 70.3 training. I dropped of my jeep this morning at the ford dealer, and picked up my new jeep. I love her too I am just sad that this sneaked up on me like this. I should have known last year when I dropped over 1500 in her this was coming though.

  • Dewing - sorry to hear about your car troubles, I hope your new car treats you right!

This weekend was good and bad. Friday I still managed to get 10,000 steps in, but I didn't actually do any focused cardio. Saturday was AWFUL, I only got 6,000 steps and ate nothing but junk food all day. Yesterday I was determined to make up for Saturday, so I went to the gym and got 25 minutes on the stairmaster, 35 minutes on the ellpitical, 30 minutes on the treadmill and then also went to the park and played disk golf for 2 hours with FI. Managed to get  a new best yesterday at 20,000 steps for the day.

Today I'm going to go to the gym and just work on weightlifting (mostly arms).

  • I'm back on track today after a LONG weekend of visiting and eating. It was my Grandma's memorial in Vancouver on Saturday, so we flew out Friday night, and flew back home last evening. There was really so few "meals" over the weekend.. much more snacking on the food that gets put out for large groups of people (which did include lots of fruits and vegetables too) but also some beer and not so healthy desserts and sandwiches.

We also stayed at this great B&B, but the breakfasts were SO not calorie friendly, I could tell. They were all 3 courses and tasted like sugar and butter! And they come down and serve it to you one course at a time, so they can see exactly what you ate and what you didn't, and I felt too guilty to just stop eating after the first course & a half. But oh well! It was a good weekend to meet some cousins I hadn't met before and to reconnect with other family I just don't see too often.

Today I'm going to walk the dog and maybe also do a run, but I am seriously pooped from the weekend still. So we'll see. Tonight we're driving up to Edmonton to see my sister's brand new townhouse that she gets possession of today. We're going out for dinner too, but I am dead set on making good choices today so I'm not worried about that.

  • I did OK food wise this weekend.   Managed to resist temptation of beer and sweets.  Walked from my house down to the Fremont Solstice Parade and back on Saturday about 4 miles total.

Today I measured myself since March I've lost 2 inches from my hips and 1.5 from my waist.   This makes me extremely happy since I have my first dress fitting tonight after work.   I am curious to see if I notice any difference from when I bought the dress in January.   Maybe I'll post pics tonight.

  • I apologize advance for the wall of text, TK mobile blows. I'm on week 2 of a 6 week challenge my bootcamp is doing. I did mostly well over the weekend. Saturday I went to bc class and kept on track with my eating. I work 13 hours every Sunday so I didn't get any exercise in and splurged on a wheat bagel with a little light cream cheese, but did well otherwise. This week we are being challenged to complete 15 miles by Sunday so I got a little over 2 done this morning after bootcamp.
  • Funny, I thought I did "meh" with eating over the weekend...And then looked back and went OMG!  What was I thinking??  No workout on Saturday because juuuust as I pulled into the gym parking lot, I got called into work.

Sunday actually managed to get in some weights, and ate fairly well.  Still on call tonight so I'll be eating a quick dinner, but tomorrow I'll get a chance to actually cook food and get stuff out and prepared for the week.  Thursday is my weekly "weigh in" and I'd like to see some improvement!

I WAS happy that I managed to wake up early and get into the gym before work this morning!  Intervals today on the elliptical today.  Tomorrow is long run day.  3 days until cheat day, haha!
  • Hi everyone.  Weekend was pretty blech...got 15,000 steps in on Friday, but had pizza for dinner and multiple drinks.  Went way over on calories both Saturday and Sunday, but yesterday I at least got in a short bike ride and some walking.  Graduation dinner for my cousin tonight, so I"m going to try and not go overboard.  Did jog for 40 minutes this afternoon, so that should help.  It's the longest I've run in one stretch EVER, so I was pretty pleased with myself.
  • I did not have alcohol this weekend, but sweets were definitely on the menu. (grad party) The only startch I had was a piece of cake and a cup of potato salad, and that is what gets me off track.
Worked in the garden and layed bricks on Sunday, so now that I am back to clean eating I only did X Stretch today after my chiropractor appointment.
