nutrisystem

. I have heard that nutrisystem helps to learn portion control. Portion control seems to be may main problem. Does anyone have any reviews for me? TIA!

Re: nutrisystem

  • It doesn't help teach portion control, it forces you the portions.. You don't LEARN anything, you just.. eat better portions because you're eating their garbage food.

You learn it from googling, researching, and food tracking.
My ex's mom was on it for a good year and a half.. and he gained every single pound back because she didn't learn how to eat outside of the crappy, processed, ultra preserved goods.
That's the only experience I have with it.

If your problem is portion control, measure everything you eat.  Find out the serving sizes for everything and eat proper servings.  Track your intake on a website like Spark people or my fitness pal.
If you eat out a lot, don't finish your meals.  Restaurant servings are far larger than actual serving sizes should be.  Divide your plate in half, pack up half for a later meal, and eat what's left on your plate.

Great Ideas for portion control!!! That is probably my main problem as well. I have always been a bigger girl and I lost 50lb before I met my Fiance, but when the dating started between us I gained some back so know with wedding 2 yrs away I am going to try to lose as much as I can!!!
  • Have you considered Weight Watchers? You learn portion control,. how to eat real food in the real world, and how to make better food choices.

Have you kept it off? How long has it been since you stopped doing the Nutrisystem plan?

Yes I have kept it off. You do learn about portion control being on the program. I've kept it off for six months now.
  • I found the food on nutrisystem to be pretty gross and filled with salt, but the portions are small and you do lose weight.. I like weight watchers
  • The food i found to be gross.  It actually made me sick and I gained weight because I could not eat it.
